Challenge:

Reply with the best advice you can give in exactly two words.
100 replies in 12 minutes.

Another example of constraints breeding creativity.

"Reply with good advice" is hard.

"Reply with two-word advice" is easy.
Let's get to 1,000 replies and I'll make a word cloud to find the most common words.
2,000!

The key to unlocking creativity?

Constraints.

Setting the rules of the game lets you focus all of your efforts on one thing: creating.

Because the fewer decisions you have to make, the better your output.

As a creator, here are 7 different constraints you can put in place:
Before diving in, here's one thing to remember.

These are not "forever" constraints.

Think of them as constraint "sprints."

You set a few, explore a certain way of doing things for a bit, then iterate.

But if you don't have constraints set, you don't know what to tweak.
The seven constraints you can have:

• Time
• Topic
• Length
• Medium
• Platform
• Cadence
• Environment

Let's dive in.

A running thread of indicators of wealth (that have nothing to do with money)
Wealth is your ability to choose how you spend your time, where you spend your time, and who you spend your time with.
Wealth is freedom from negative people, negative thoughts, and negative emotions.

A running thread of bad ways to do things so I can avoid them:
A bad way to start writing online:

• Publish with ego
• Ignore feedback
• Assume you know what readers want
• Assume you know what to write about
• Spend months writing on your own blog into the void
A bad way to be productive:

• Get a really poor night's sleep
• Work on multiple tasks at once
• Save your hardest tasks for last
• Keep twitter up in the background
• Switch between projects constantly

Last week one of my threads went bonkers.

• 4.1mm impressions

Here's a breakdown of why it worked with 6 tips you can steal when writing your next thread:
If you haven't seen it yet, here's the thread:

The breakdown will make more sense if you see it first.

Alright, let's dive in.

The first and most important part of any successful thread.

Provide value.

Valuable content is heavily shared.

And people share things that are either:

• Extremely entertaining
• Extremely educational

When writing a thread, understand clearly which bucket you're in.

One life-changing mental shift:

Viewing every dollar spent on your health as an investment, not an expense.

I've experimented with hundreds of different things. Some were wastes, and some were incredible.

Here are the 10 best health investments I've made 🧵👇🏼
My health investments are in four main areas:

• Data
• Sleep
• Exercise
• Nutrition

I've included my 80/20 TLDR approach to these areas at the bottom of the thread.

But let's start with why I'm into this stuff anyway.
I played football in college, weighing in at 283lbs during my senior year.

For my entire life until I was 22, I had one goal: get as big and as strong as possible.

But when my career ended, I had to rewire my entire life operating system.

If you use a Mac and your application dock still takes up space on your screen, this thread will change your life:
The Mac application dock is a nuisance.

Most people will move it from the bottom to the side, but this doesn't solve the problem.

And even if you have it on autohide, there's more you can do to improve it.
1. Set up autohide

The first step is to get it off your screen by turning on autohide.

Option (⌥)+Command (⌘)+D keyboard will toggle this for you.

You can show it by dragging your mouse to the bottom or side where it lives.

But now, it pops out like a sloth.
