The average Nigerian believes that the more bitter a food or drink is, the healthier it is.

Lori iro, you’re just an ‘aspiring cultist’, cos how do y’all drink this Agbo of a thing😩.

Aarrrgh!🤢
Seriously though,
Medically speaking... bitter doesn’t always equate healthier.

While herbs are therapeutic, the problem is the lack of regulation, and false sense of safety it provides.

You live recklessly, then fall back on high-dose herbs as a safety net. Risky.
I don’t advocate sugary foods. I just need to let us know that our bodies interprete “sugar differently”. So, yam, fufu, amala, eba... all are sugars. And healthy foods, can be tasty.

Though refined sugars are not so healthy...
Drinking bitters, doesn’t prevent diabetes either.
Diabetes is caused by a lack of, or tissue resistance or insensitivity to insulin. Not by eating sugar.

Now in this case, eating foods with high glycemic (sugar) content, can increase blood sugar and worsen symptoms and complications, in a diabetic.

What prevents Diabetes?
1. Know your risk. Any family history?
2. Eat healthy food (Dietary modifications). Not you drinking alcohol, smoking, eating unhealthy, and then drinking agbo to “cleanse”. A nutritionist cab help you with a meal plan.
3. Exercise regularly
4. Check your blood sugar regularly.
If you notice any deviation from the normal... please reach out to your Doctor.

Early detection is always key. It can be managed best when diagnosed on time.

Remember, the moral of this story is to let you know that “bitter/Bland” doesn’t always mean healthy, vis a vis.
With herbs, it’s best home made. That way, you’re sure of the content.

Many herb vendors now add NSAIDs, steroids, alcohol and other drugs into their drinks, for “premium effect”. These could hurt your kidneys.

Also, if you’re on meds, ask your Dr, to avoid drug interactions.
Herbs can be taken prophylactically or to relive certain symptoms, however, it doesn’t replace the hospital, if one is ill.

Also, avoid herbs that promise to cure heaven and earth. Going to a doctor, saves time, life and money.

I love ginger, garlic, lemon, with honey. You?
❤️

So a ‘nurse’ told an acquaintance that her diagnosis of ovarian cyst is because she has no sexual experience.

She also advised her to “try and be having sex from time to time”.

Also, told her other scary unverified balderdash.

My first question: “A qualified nurse?”
Silence.
Owing to poverty and ignorance a lot of people seek healthcare in every other place but the hospital.

I understand.

However, “Penny wise... pound foolish”.
It’s best to spend that initial time and money seeking out a specialist. Else, you might spend more in the long run.
I later got to find out that this woman who claims to be a nurse, just owns a chemist shop and once worked as an auxiliary nurse in a private hospital back in the day.

She had initially flooded her with antibiotics from an imaginary PID! Before she finally got a scan diagnosis.

I have questions.
I stressed myself to get NIN from NIMC in 2015, it wasn’t until 2018 I got called for the permanent card.

Guess what. Card expires in 2020.
Sorry, you want me to go through that stress again?
It’s you people’s identity that will expire.
Now yesterday...
I spent half my day at the MTN store waiting time get a sim upgrade, having been busy the whole year.
Just when it got to me... we were told that NCC had stopped the process.

Now, we are hearing we have until 30th December to upgrade our sim with NIN or get blocked.
Block heads.
How is it that in a world were everyone is innovatively progressing, our country is taking huge steps backward.

Why not automate the NIN and SIM upgrade process (Self service!). Why bring people together in a pandemic, during the holidays with a threat hanging above their heads.

Why does Semen Leak out after intercourse?

1) The Law of gravity: Whatever goes up...😉

2) It’s fluid he ejaculated, not air or solids 😃

3) All it takes is agile sperm cells to swim up for fertilization. The fluid is just a medium.

So sis, bring your leg down🤗
You’re good.
A lot of women, especially those looking to conceive have been led to believe you need to prop your leg up a wall to let the semen ‘enter’ your womb.

Unless, you’re doing this for the fun of it... it hasn’t actually been shown to contribute to your fertility chances.
After ejaculation,
Some of the sperm will remain in the back of the vagina (the posterior fornix). An even smaller amount makes its way up through the cervix, into the uterus and down the fallopian tubes. Sperm (cell) travels quickly, so within minutes, it’s enroute fallopian.
