THREAD: It’s been a truly devastating week in America as gun violence continues to plague our communities and tear our families apart. 
Eight people were shot and killed and five others were wounded when a gunman opened fire at a FedEx warehouse in Indianapolis last night.
This shooting comes on the heels of mass shootings in Baltimore County, MD, Orange, CA, Boulder, CO, Allen, TX, Rock Hill, SC, and a series of shootings at massage parlors around Atlanta where six of the victims were women of Asian descent.
Twenty-year-old Daunte Wright was shot and killed by a police officer in a Minneapolis suburb, after being pulled over. Another young, Black man taken by police violence.
New video was released this week that revealed 13-year-old Adam Toledo, who was shot and killed by police in Illinois, had his hands up, and shows no indication that he was holding a gun when he was shot. The police had claimed he was holding a gun when he was shot.
Sixteen-year-old Peyton Ham, a 16-year-old boy, was shot and killed by Maryland police the very same week an off-duty Pentagon police officer shot and killed two people—32-year-old Dominique Williams, and 38-year-old James Lionel Johnson— in Takoma Park, Maryland.
For the fifth time this year, a student at the Austin-East Magnet High School in Knoxville, TN was killed with a gun.
Two trans women—Jaida Peterson and Remy Fennell—were recently shot to death in hotel rooms in Charlotte, NC in separate incidents of gun violence.
Sadly, these are just a handful of the people whose lives have been taken by gun violence in America in recent days. More than 100 people are killed and 230 people are wounded by gun violence every single day in this country.
