1. A few notes on the #Schaeffer plea. He apparently was not charged initially with a felony so he had no grand jury indictment or waiver. Some minor housekeeping filings and then an information filed yesterday that charged 18 USC 1512(c)(2) obstructing Congress.
2. The new 1512(c)(2) charge appears to be the felony hammer they are using to hit a lot of people and a few weeks ago they started indicting people on conspiracy for it. IMO that is where TFG and his crew including complicit members of Congress are likely to be charged.
3. I personally would have no hesitation charging the seven @SenateGOP and the over 100 @HouseGOP with it along with TFG and about 100 of his crew including possibly Charles Koch and Ginni Thomas based on their funding of the insurrection if there is any evidence that they knew
1. When I was about 7, my dad taught me how to act if I got arrested. He was a person without ambiguity. He was also a police commissioner and knew that arrests are dangerous moments. Everyone plays a role in everyone going home. I looked at the video. Young black officer
2. was being civil but tipped the arrest without backup near him. The suspect was struggling just slightly and the arresting officer appeared to be communicating with him, I think he asked him to cooperate. Then he bolted. What followed was apparently an accidental shooting.
3. The officer who fired knew it was wrong. Why a young person would flee in that circumstance is unclear to me. I can imagine reasons but will wait to see what the investigation shows.

1. Why do we allow police to be in unions? First, they cannot legally strike. Comp & work rules are by arbitration. Second, they are not workers in the classic sense. They carry the right to kill citizens based on their authority. They swear an oath to uphold the people's rights.
2. Would we tolerate the military forming a union? They are sworn to uphold the same rights but they are not paid overtime and don't have a union. IMO we need to pay police top salaries and end all overtime. Hire them as management and subject to review for advancement.
3. They should have rights to prevent arbitrary discipline and termination and have their discipline determined judicially like the military. But anyone carrying a firearm for "the state" needs to act like military members with no right to avoid daily responsibility for failings.

1. Do you think Putin's crew knows about "The Trading with the Enemy Act?" It applies to nations and its nationals if the US is "at war" with the nation. It doesn't define "at war" as far as I can see. I searched for the term "at war." Found this is still in the books:
