1/n #CovidManagement If every State Govt had war gamed Oxygen production-transportation-last mile connectivity in their respective states and screamed ‘help’ in 2020, the current sit would not have come. This EXACTLY is called governance. What use is NDRF-SDRF ?

2/n #CovidManagement Last Jun-November I did three to four long threads and one tweet suggested a Central Command Centre to coordinate nation wide Covid Management. Remember the media centre of Commonwealth games in Delhi? It was absolute beauty. On same lines we needed one.

3/n #CovidManagement I suggested having one central coordinator to handle and direct the disaster. Health, Police, Railways, Transport, Army, assets of election commission etc. 100% in a command centre with the head being given Cabinet Rank. This is GOVERNANCE.

4/n #CovidManagement We started faltering from first step. Migrant Labour exodus management. Centre held all reigns and in Sep 20 it was handed over to states, being state subject. A disaster of this proportion requires emergency steps and federalism should have been kicked out.

5/n #CovidManagement No CM is expected to have holistic view of nation hence it was necessary to have Covid Command. This would free every ministry and complete focus would be on centralised direction. Each state should have had three reps, a senior State Minister, Secy & Health

6/n #CovidManagement My tweets asked Centre to galvanise as much retired veterans from Armed Forces (being young) and deploy for duties. The complete Covid Disaster was 100% manageable. We focused on non essentials. Centre-State fights, no national plan & no central authority.

7/n #CovidManagement Of what use are people who retired from senior positions, tweet absolute nonsense 24X7 but do not advise Govt aggressively? Why does Govt not pool in competent, willing and ‘movers’? Of what use are the in service if they could not plan for this disaster?

8/n #CovidManagement The Central Covid Command could have worked on different scenarios last year. Oxygen Micro Plants at district level, Converting 100% schools to Covid Hospitals, Vaccine Strategy (lock down worst affected state & immunise ALL) etc.. Till date haven’t seen any)

9/n #CovidManagement Why is private sector stepping in emergency? Private Sector is ‘force multiplier’. Our systems should all have been in place and today, private sector should have been asked to help nation. Drugs in black market? Why? State says it will import Vaccines. WHY?

10/LAST #CovidManagement These are not hindsight tweets. Since April-May 2020 threads have been written by me. Today MY HEART BLEEDS when I see social media full of requests for beds, oxygen, injections & funeral pyres-ALL BECAUSE OUR EGOS ARE BIGGER THAN GOVERNANCE. Disgusting.

11/n #CovidManagement Papers full of brilliant ideas to be put in place, SC asks Centre for ‘National Emergency Plan’. Can there be a bigger gathering of ‘free salaried’ administrators who don’t even have an organisation in place? WHY WAS NDRF CREATED? Now don’t show it’s charter
