The @SenateGOP is utterly worthless. An absolute embarrassment. Good luck reclaiming the majority voting for absolute and total garbage COVID-19 “Hate Crime” legislation: “The term ‘COVID–19 hate crime’ means a crime of violence (as such term is defined in section... (1/4)

Finally able to compare amended Senate version to the original (& House companion) one I cited below (all that was available at time) & @SenateGOP claims victory b/c it’s allegedly slightly “less bad,” & yet entire intent remains to tie awful crimes to speech & thought... (1/4)
... It specifically retains “COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force,” which the name in & of itself is absurd... but now having a ever-so-slightly modified task from issuing “best practices” for mitigation to “raising awareness” of “hate crimes” during the COVID-19 pandemic... (2/4)
...& further, it does pull out “gender identify” language tied to a definition of COVID-19 “hate crimes,” which no doubt the @senateGOP will claim as victory, but leaves DOJ with carte blanche to define hate “incidents” & instruct local, state law enforcement how to track. (3/4)
Today, a number of my colleagues will be filing an amicus brief in support of the lawsuit filed by the State of Texas regarding the election results of several other states. Respectfully, I will not join because I believe the case itself represents a dangerous violation... (1/5)

As Americans, we are bound together by an idea larger than political discourse. We are bound by a shared belief in the greatness of Texas and our nation, and the centrality of both freedom and the rule of law to our prosperity as a people. #TX21#StandUpForAmerica
On #ElectionNight, Texans in the Hill Country demonstrated our collective resolve to preserve these important ideals for ourselves and our children and grandchildren, so that they may inherit a stronger, safer, and freer country. #TX21
I am honored to represent the great people, businesses, and communities of the 21st Congressional District in Texas - and I appreciate the faith those people have placed in me to continue to represent them. #TX21
At the ballot box, I will be guided by one goal: to vote to #StandUpForAmerica. I want order on our streets & leaders who stand with law enforcement under the rule of law. I want judges who believe their job is to interpret the Constitution & law, & no more. (1/5)
I want to secure the border, end sanctuary cities, & take out cartels - for America’s security & the safety of immigrants who seek to come here. I want to stand with Israel, deter China, & have a strong military used sparingly but forcefully w/o endless overseas presence. (2/5)
I want a strong economy built on low taxes, low regulations, & American ingenuity. I want all Americans, regardless of their health status, to get the best healthcare in the world, affordably, from their doctor without interference from government or insurance bureaucrats. (3/5)
Hey white, “woke,” people - of whatever political persuasion - how do you feel about the fact it appears 75% or more of the people in ICU’s in Austin for COVID are Hispanic? While you shut down parks, preach about masks in public, & panic about schools... (1/7)
...who do you think are still making the food you pat yourselves on the back for “picking up for delivery?” Who are working the bulk of these jobs while you mock those who say schools should open, saying “I don’t know who goes to Home Depot 6 hours a day, 5 days week...” (2/7)
...but then you don’t give two craps about the workers sitting at HEB (grocery), Home Depot, or the gas station all day... all so you can get your Arugala and Croissant while dropping by Starbucks to get a Latte before heading to ride your Peloton... Feel good do you?... (3/7)
