How quantity of oxygen is available in the State? Bench

State oxygen capacity is 812 tonnes per day, Court reads from affidavit filed by State.

Bench: Is this data correct? Then how is there shortage?

Adv Clifton informs that many hospitals have shortage of O2.
What is the method of distribution of Oxygen? Court to State

Supply of Oxygen comes from whom? Court

State : Private manufacturing units. Smaller hospitals require tanks, that is where difficulty has.

Large hospitals have large tanks, there is no issue there

#COVID19India
Are you saying remsidivir is not used now? : Court

State : No but internationally...

Court : Then supply has to be there. Do that immediately

#COVID19
#COVID19India
Court : Publish data of availability of Remsidivir.

#COVID19India
Court now goes through IAs filed by Adv Shridhar Prabhu
Small hospitals should know details of availability of Oxygen : Court

Supply of Oxygen is based on corporate industrial benevolence : Prabhu
One direction which we will pass to today is there should be a help desk in front of every COVID Hospital : Court

So that if someone is denied admission, he knows where next to go : Court
State : It will be done.

Prabhu : 10,000 which was there earlier is now all in vain. Money and medical facilities, all will go in vain. No beds available.

State : Covid centres are not fully occupied. Issue arises when oxygen is needed and ICU beds needed.
Court : Are you saying non ICU beds are available? Issue is for beds with ventilators, ICU and oxygen?

AAG for State agrees.

#COVID19India
#karnatakahighcourt
Clifton : State must consider how to provide HDU, ICU and ICU beds with ventilators.

Yesterday, we had over 23,500 COVID positive cases.
Court : Only 155 ventilator beds in the city as on April 20. Very alarming

#COVID19India
BBMP counsel provides details of availability of beds in hospitals

Court : This is very alarming. This needs immediate action.
BBMP : Everyday 500 to 800 beds are being added to this ICU.

Court : We don't know about that.... How are you adding beds?

#COVIDEmergency2021
Prabhu : I am the before website. ICU beds are at 97% capacity.

Clifton : If there are 4 people and only one bed, how will they decide whom to give?

Justice Aravind Kumar : St Jones, St Philomenas are all big hospitals. How are they managing? How many ICU beds are there?
Court : We will hear it on Monday

AAG : Tuesday please, milord.
I must confess getting info is very difficult, tomorrow and day after is heard. Of course we are all working
Court : We are hear on Tuesday Morning.
Clifton : There is large rise in Covid not only in Bangalore but other districts. State has to throw light on situation of beds.

State to understand the gap between demand and supply of oxygen as well
ORDER - State submitted draft compliance report based on yesterday's order.

Only 32 HDU beds vacant. Only 11 ICU plus ventilators available. NO ICU beds available. The situation appears to be very scary.
Court - It can be safely said that there are hardly any beds in all three categories

Direct to State and BBMP to immediately step into action and ensure additional bed facilities created, possibly by using beds in covid centres.
Court - State, BBMP and all concerned to immediately identify availability of beds in all three categories in nearby districts.
We direct to take immediate action reason being there might surge in covid and no beds available in any of the three categories : Court

1. Both the FIRs contain identical offences.
