Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra says that the entire system will collapse if we do not put the House in order.
Sr Advocate Rahul Mehta informed HC that yesterday we (Delhi) got only around 296 MT of Oxygen supply, despite our quota being 480 MT. He also says that if we're not getting 480 MT of allocated oxygen, entire functioning will collapse in 24 hrs if we don't put our House in order.

MHA officials inform Delhi HC that because of a high number of cases across the country there is a shortage of tankers. He also said that State governments are working very hard. Delhi and the Centre have to work together, he added.
The government of NCT should make all the possible efforts for procuring cryogenic tankers. We expect officers of both governments to coordinate in this regard, says Delhi High Court

Total daily Medical Oxygen production capacity of Steel plants is 2834 MT. In Steel sector, there are 33 oxygen plants of which 29 tapped regularly. As against 2834 MT of daily LMO production capacity in the Sector, the production of LMO is 3474 MT as on 24th April: Govt of India
This is higher than LMO production capacity because most units have reduced the production of Nitrogen & Argon & only producing LMO. 2894 tonnes were dispatched to different states on 24th April by Steel Plants as against 1500/1700 Metric Tonnes /Day a week earlier: Govt of India

Initially, the demand had come from Maharashtra & 7 tankers were loaded from Vizag. They travelled a distance of over 1800 kms & reached Nagpur & Nashik for the much-needed Oxygen. 3 tankers were moved from Lucknow to Bokaro, 1 tanker was unloaded at Varanasi: Suneet Sharma

In line with PM’s direction of boosting availability of oxygen to hospitals, PM CARES Fund has given in-principle approval for allocation of funds for installation of 551 dedicated Pressure Swing Adsorption Medical Oxygen Generation Plants inside public health facilities: PMO
PM has directed that these plants should be made functional as soon as possible. These dedicated plants will be established in identified Govt hospitals in district headquarters in various States/UTs. The procurement will be done through Ministry of Health and Family Welfare: PMO
