Bwaha. @GaSecofState claims GA bought a new voting system to make @staceyabrams happy. He omits that a federal court ORDERED him to replace the old paperless system (after GA wiped the servers following @ossoff’s 2017 loss) bc it was so insecure as to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

It was @CoalitionGoodGv that got the ruling banning the use of Georgia’s paperless voting machines after 2019. @MarilynRMarks1
If you listen to the ad, Stacy advocated #HandMarkedPaperBallots (w/ exception for voters w/ disabilities), not the new touchscreens that mark your paper ballots for you, which is what @GaSecofState & the GOP insisted on instead. They own it.
Compared to pen & paper, touchscreens (with or w/o paper) are much more prone to long lines, which disenfranchise voters. I explain why here. This is one reason why many oppose touchscreens & prefer #HandMarkedPaperBallots (pen & paper). #VoterSuppression threadreaderapp.com/thread/1315824…
Touchscreens make it easy to manufacture long lines by limiting the number of working machines sent to a precinct.

@GrassrootsSpeak This thread compares a non-presidential year (2014) to a presidential year (2020) with the faulty (I think) suggestion that vote totals shld be similar. It omits that the Dem in 2020 also more than doubled the Dem in 2014. I’m no fan of ES&S but this analysis seems strained. 1/

They confirmed Russia’s breach of Florida election systems only after Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis were declared victorious in their respective races and sworn in. It appears, however, that they would never have confirmed it but for the Mueller report confirming it first. 2/

Dear lawmakers from both parties: One thing you should agree upon is the importance of AUTOMATIC robust manual election audits conducted in public. Get it together & pass laws requiring them b4 2022. If u don’t try, why shld voters believe u really care about election integrity?

IMO, all federal races should be manually audited. And some randomly selected state & county races too.

In between “both sidesism,” “GaSecofState says he bought GA’s new touchscreen system bc @StaceyAbrams complained about the old paperless touchscreen system. He omits that she called for #HandMarkedPaperBallots (w/ exception 4 voters w/ disabilities), NOT the new touchscreens...1/
... that mark voters’ “paper ballots” for them. He also omits that a federal court ORDERED Georgia to replace the old system, which was so insecure that the court found it to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Ya know, “details”.... 🙄2/
