“In August 2018, Nelson blew the whistle on Russia’s breach of FL voter registration systems, which the DHS (led by Republican Kirstjen Nielsen) & FBI (led by Republican Christopher Wray) had concealed from the public.” 1/
Link: link.medium.com/A3cVeRHtPfb
They confirmed Russia’s breach of Florida election systems only after Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis were declared victorious in their respective races and sworn in. It appears, however, that they would never have confirmed it but for the Mueller report confirming it first. 2/
The FBI is still led by Republican Chris Wray. In January last year, it announced a new policy that “does not include notifying members of Congress or the public when [an election] system is breached…” #FireChrisWray 3/ fcw.com/articles/2020/…
Not only that, the DHS claimed to have worked w/ Florida to secure its systems in late 2018, but apparently that did not include advising them against connecting their voting systems to the internet or even disconnecting those systems from the internet after the election. 4/
As of 2019, @C_C_Krebs had provided no written guidance discouraging the use of wireless modems. But he claimed that the DHS had discouraged it in “direct consultations.” No indication when that advice was supposedly provided or why everyone apparently ignored it. 5/
I just can’t get over that @CISAKrebs tried to get away with saying that voting systems generally don’t connect to the internet. He knew this wasn’t true in some crucial states that allowed ES&S to install wireless modems (eg, FL, MI, WI) & then had to acknowledge it. WTAF?! 6/
It’s a little after 1:23 mark. It’s as if Krebs tried to downplay or cover up this dangerous practice used in FL, MI, WI, & beyond. Paper is crucial. But if no one looks at it manually in a meaningful way (& in the vast majority of instances we don’t), then it does no good. 7/
“‘Online and vulnerable': Experts find nearly three dozen U.S. voting systems connected to internet” - Jan 2020 8/ nbcnews.com/politics/elect…
And Krebs obviously knew this because he was the one who expressly declined to advise states in writing to forego this dangerous practice. Election experts had asked him to provide that advice. 9/

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but McGrath’s approval was lower than McConnell’s & the 18% figure cited in a viral thread is from 3 years ago. Re: Lindsey Graham, comparing his turnout in 2020 to his turnout in 2014 isn’t credible. The Dem turnout more than doubled too. 1/
I’ve asked questions of the account listing these figures but received no response. Please stop directing my attention to these nonsense (in my opinion) threads. The only credible parts are concerns about the vendors and their history, which I and many others have written... 2/
... about for years. 3/

@GrassrootsSpeak This thread compares a non-presidential year (2014) to a presidential year (2020) with the faulty (I think) suggestion that vote totals shld be similar. It omits that the Dem in 2020 also more than doubled the Dem in 2014. I’m no fan of ES&S but this analysis seems strained. 1/
@GrassrootsSpeak I’ve asked @GrassrootsSpeak a few questions along these lines. No response. Maybe I’m wrong. Dunno. But so far no one has explained why it makes sense to compare 2014 and 2020. 2/

Dear lawmakers from both parties: One thing you should agree upon is the importance of AUTOMATIC robust manual election audits conducted in public. Get it together & pass laws requiring them b4 2022. If u don’t try, why shld voters believe u really care about election integrity?
Oh. And auditing just a few races in a few counties won’t cut it. Talk to @philipbstark. Thanks.
IMO, all federal races should be manually audited. And some randomly selected state & county races too.

WHY IS NEITHER PARTY CHAMPIONING LEGISLATION THAT WOULD REQUIRE AUTOMATIC ROBUST MANUAL ELECTION AUDITS?! 1/

In between “both sidesism,” “GaSecofState says he bought GA’s new touchscreen system bc @StaceyAbrams complained about the old paperless touchscreen system. He omits that she called for #HandMarkedPaperBallots (w/ exception 4 voters w/ disabilities), NOT the new touchscreens...1/
... that mark voters’ “paper ballots” for them. He also omits that a federal court ORDERED Georgia to replace the old system, which was so insecure that the court found it to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Ya know, “details”.... 🙄2/
It was @CoalitionGoodGv that brought the lawsuit, not Stacey. 3/

Bwaha. @GaSecofState claims GA bought a new voting system to make @staceyabrams happy. He omits that a federal court ORDERED him to replace the old paperless system (after GA wiped the servers following @ossoff’s 2017 loss) bc it was so insecure as to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
“Federal judge bans paperless voting machines in Georgia after 2019” Weird how @GaSecofState omitted this little detail from his Time interview.
