Next item: Midtown Trail update😁

Segment 2 (shields between Fresno and First street) is set to be awarded for construction for June.

Segment 5() out for bid and hoping to award in June.

Both Segments will be under construction this year!

Segments 3/4 scheduled for fall 2021 award construction this winter.

Segment 1 is currently going through a geometric approval process to eliminate a through lane to provide space for the trail. Construction anticipated Spring 2022.

Gene Richards: Segment 5 is where the planes go over, they aren't going to have any trees?

Jason Miller: There will be landscaping, but it won't be very tall and is required to not attract wildlife by FAA.

Gene Richards: "Why is is so hard for public works to share the plans...

"... for this project?"

Jesus Avitia:"The project is out to bid and you are free to log into the bid portal and download the plans."

Gene Richards: "I want to know what is going to be done on the bankside trail with the slope in order to prevent collisions."

Jason Miller: "It should be compliant with trail design guidelines."

Gene Richards: "I've heard you are going to remove the slip lanes because they are very dangerous."

Jason Miller: "That is the plan."

Palm/Belmont update: Scott Sehm: The project is approaching 90% design.

Next item:

City of Fresno applied for @NACTO membership, we were accepted along with Fremont and will be using them to better design and plan bike/ped facilities around the city.

Jill Gormley also mentions that at the recent council meeting, most of the council was in the chamber. If BPAC wishes, they could decide whether to continue on zoom or to go in person. This will be worked out in the coming weeks.

I would like to apologize for skipping large sections of the meeting. Tonight especially my brain got stuck between live-tweeting what people are saying and thinking about what my comments should be on an item.

On top of that, a lot of the agendas lately feel like they are trying to just cram so much in. That's kind of why I want there to be bimonthly meetings someday. So we aren't just rushing through it to be done by 7:30 pm.

I'm a bit drained. Time for a nice walk around the block before the sun sets.
