I thank people of #BolpurSantiniketan & accept their wish & verdict in all humility. BJP polled nearly 95000, having brought the margin of difference of 2016 down from 50,000 to about 22,000, this push forward, in a month, is in itself satisfying, my gratitude to our karyakartas!
I have been deeply moved by people's affection & support. Decades of struggle in #WestBengal from BJS to BJP, has resulted in the BJP emerging as the principle opposition party in the Legislative Assembly, this is a major step which will define Bengal's politics from now onwards.
My commitment to & faith in PM Modi's vision of #SonarBangla remains undiminished, I shall continue to work for #WestBengal's present & future, remain vigilant & responsive to her needs & aspirations. The party which has won must not prop itself up on fear & intimidation.

"What I have seen naturally is most distressing. I have seen classes & conditions of people, men, women & children, many whom never knew what poverty & want were. But today they are homeless; they are hopeless...- Dr S.P.Mookerjee, On Bengal Situation #CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019
...their physical suffering was great. But what struck me as most ominous and most distressing was the moral torture through which millions of people passed...- Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, (On Bengal Situation, Parliament, Aug 7, 1950)
"I do not think the world's history will ever record another such example where millions of people, educated & uneducated, simply because they loved their religion, were desecrated, butchered or driven out of their homeland"- Dr S.P.Mookerjee 7 Aug 1950,
Some leftwing & Congress dimwits on SM have been, since morning, trying to "educate" me on #VeerSavarkar. Just for the record, the revolutionary nationalist phase was my special area of research in the past, my great great grandfather Srijukta Upendranath Bandyopadhay
one of the leading revolutionaries of the early phase-Agniyug- was a close colleague of Sri Aurobindo, was arrested along with him in the then famous Alipore Bomb Case.He stood trial for a year & was sentenced to deportation to the #CellularJail in Andamans with Barin Ghose et al
Upendranath spent a decade in 'Kala Pani' at the same time as #VeerSavarkar. His memoirs of life as an exile-Nirbasiter Atmakatha-eventually became a classic in Bengali literature. #VeerSavarkar immortalized it & Upendranath by quoting from his book in his own magnum opus
