The latest car from Tesla has a deadly defect. If its battery dies, rear-seat passengers are trapped: there is NO MANUAL RELEASE for the rear doors.
This information is ONLY in the Emergency Responder Guide... $TSLA $TSLAQ 1/5
...and NOT in #Tesla's regular Owner's Manual, which misleadingly says to use the "manual door release", without specifying that there is NO SUCH RELEASE for a Model Y's REAR doors. Additionally, passengers unfamiliar with this defect face a higher risk of death if trapped. 2/5
This fatal defect exists in the #Tesla Model 3, which was introduced back in 2016. It has now carried over to the Model Y. Its deadliness is compounded with the 3rd row being stuffed into the back, and Musk marketing the car as seating 7 adults.

Teslas' unusual & defective doors are literal Death Traps. Real people have burned to death in #Tesla cars, trapped by the doors' defectively complex designs and reliance on electric power. The Model Y's lack of a manual release compounds this danger. 4/5
Musk on SNL, Live Thread for $TSLAQ: Miley Cyrus sings a Mother's Day song while wearing a... breast shirt. A bunch of unfunny Mother's Day tributes by cast. Musk comes out, stiff as a board, smirking and steepling. Does the neck twitch thing. He's definitely on uppers. 1/5
Makes fun of his speech pattern and then says he's the "first person with Aspergers to host SNL". Jokes about it. Then tries to sell genius visionary bullshit about colonizing other planets. Jokes about abusing Twitter. 2/5
Says he's not a "chill normal dude" because he "reinvented" electric cars and "sends people to Mars". Jokes about smoking weed on Joe Rogan. Makes OJ joke about "killing it" on SNL. Jokes about his son's name being indecipherable. Super jumpy and twitchy now. 3/5
This is a poorly researched article from @WSJ, which fails to account for: 1/ BATTERY DISPOSAL. What are the costs of disposal, and the disposal's environmental impact at both the battery's & the vehicle's end of life? #Tesla $TSLA $TSLAQ
2/ EV BATTERIES DEGRADE. By 60k mi., a #Tesla's battery can lose 15% ~ 25% of its capacity. What's the environmental impact replacing the battery every 100k mi.? ICE vehicles don't lose range, and even a new engine is cheaper than replacing a battery. electrek.co/2020/06/06/tes…
3/ FAKE RANGE. Tesla has been proven by many different organizations to overestimate their range. What is the time value of needing to charge more often? Of being stranded on the side of the road because Tesla lied about the remaining range? edmunds.com/car-news/testi…
Near-Term Spin for $TSLA:
It's been a few very negative days, but it may be worth keeping in mind the following tailwinds that may help bouy the stonk narrative in Q2 ~ Q3:
- Expansion/addition to FIT EV credit
- Possible additional subsidies from Green New Deal
$TSLAQ 1/4
- Temporary pent-up demand for refreshed Model S/X (none made for >4 mos now)
- Beginning of fake "production" in Austin
- Additional pumps (fake FSD, 4860 "breakthroughs", additional product "hints/reveals" - e.g. "$25 K" model, more Semi orders, etc.)

Likely $TSLA headwinds include:
- China forces recall for brake failures/Autopilot, cuffs Grace Tao
- Musk bombs SNL appearance
- @NTSB prelim. TX crash report concludes #Autopilot involved, victims' families sue
- Additional regulatory scrutiny/regulation of Autopilot/FSD

🚨 The Chinese Government is Furious With #Tesla: Thread
State-controlled media in China is abuzz with slamming Tesla's dangerous "Autopilot". Less than 2 months ago, Tesla was summoned by 5 regulators over quality problems. $TSLA $TSLAQ 1/9 asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Elec…
CCTV, China's premier state-owned national TV channel, opens with this headine on a Tesla blowing a red light and hitting motorcyclists on 3/23:
Demand for Tesla cars were driven by a combo of the uniqueness/image of EVs, Tesla building a good performance/range EV from the ground up that's not a compliance car, OTA updates, subsidies, fast charging, subsidies and Musk's image. Musk is fast destroying his image... 3/10
Parker Petit's 1-Year Sentence as a Reflection of the Legal System (a thread)
Parker Petit's frauds/crimes harmed or destroyed many lives, were to the tune of millions, and caused $35 M in losses to $MDXG shareholders. But his sentence is only 1 year in jail and a $1 M fine. 1/6
If all goes well for Petit, he might even walk out of minimum security prison after only about 4 months (prisoners are typically eligible to apply for parole after serving 1/3 of sentence). He'll walk back to his life of a multi-millionaire. 2/6 ajc.com/ajcjobs/parker…
Now, here are some federal crimes that carry a mandatory minimum of at least 1 year imprisonment:
Forgery of notary seal
Bribery of meat inspectors
Falsely entering or destroying books or accounts of common carrier
Harboring illegal aliens for gain
