Why do we need Shaastras? Are Shaastras Scientific?
Ans = We dont need Shaastras for stuff that is scientific. If it can be percieved or understood through reasoning, rationalization and physical methods, how will Shaastras tell us something unique we couldn't know otherwise? +

Imagine a horse standing in front, i say to a friend besides me 'look a horse', he replies back 'duh, i can see it'. There's really nothing new abt that restatement, the Vedas etc don't restate stuff we already know/can know by physical proofs. It would be useless if they did. +

What is Stuff we cannot understand without shaastras? Dharma = Yajnas Vyavahara Shuddhi Ashuddhi etc, there is no source to know why should a man do Jyotishtoma Yajna for heaven. There is no source why Cow is pure. Only shaastras tell us this. Perceiving Morality through reason +

has lead to disasters and utter chaos. Reason external to Vedas is just tomfoolery and frog-philosophy. Using reason and logic to support Shaastras is Yukti (Yuj+ti that which enjoins). The divine Leelas of Bhagavan, how he was born,how he killed Asuras etc +

All are only known to us by Shaastras. Those who say hinduism is scientific bcoz today many modern science Concepts match. But can you tell me if that was not the case, is your faith so weak that you'd stop believing firmly in Shaastras if they contradict science? +

Those who started thinking, this means that this approach isn't helping us rather making us weaker. Those who are so happy Hinduism is Scientific etc, are actually proving Science is more accurate. Bcoz science is used as a parameter to judge our etenral shaastras.

This is philosophically and dharmikally making us weak and detaching us from our roots. Tell me one scientist or an experiment that can prove the existence of Aatma. Aatma is Satchidanand. They haven't even acknowledged Sat as of now, dont even imagine their miniscule +

Approach can even imagine Aananda. There is no Philosophy but Vedas that have reached uptil Aatma. All others have just gone upto Prana pr Psyche

Its like a false Eureka Moment when you didnt even discover Aatma. All are suffering from Pranadhyasa Indriyadhyasa etc (Adhyasa = misperception, like falsely thinking Prana is aatma as the Abrahamics do, Greeks went upto psyche which is kind of close to antahkarana). +

So Yajnas aatma rasa Aananda brahm all this is completely unthinkable for non-desi world and you talk of discovering it. They dont even have a proper translation for Dharma, Niti etc. How do you expect Science to be so mature that it will reach to level of Hindu Shaastras by this

Dont eat before piss, or dont eat empty stomach and so on. We trjst him without checking. Similarly we should trust shaastras. When you dont hv trust on Shaastras that is why you need such scientific (pseudo) backup. Our knowledge is eternal, it requires no backup. Period. +

Do u believe in Rama or Krishna bcoz of science? How can anyone probes through science Rama or krishna existed. U can say through dwarika and Ramasetu. But science would say Ramasetu is manmade. How will it prove a king called Rama existed? Plus the setu wasn't manmade. +

Monkeys built it, will science agree? And if it doesn't, will u stop believing in the Leelas of Hari? Dwarika remains also prove only a damaged city. Not Krishna. The proof for all this is only our Vedas and Puranas etc. Stuff known only through Shaastras needs no backup proof |

Get two things straight. शास्त्रैकगम्य means info unobtainable through other means. Shaaatras are Eka (only means) it is Gamya (known/obtained). That which can be known through other means, we accept logic reason scientific methods experiments etc. Pretty Clear Now. Shriharih.
