One of the groups behind the planned takeover is the Israel Land Fund, which is funded by the New York-based Central Fund of Israel.
The Central Fund of Israel is a registered non-profit that receives millions in U.S. tax-exempt donations, and sends that money to Israeli settler groups.
The Israel Land Fund is headed by Aryeh King, the extremist deputy mayor of Jerusalem who was recently caught on camera wishing that a Palestinian activist in Sheikh Jarrah was shot in the head.
In 2017, Israeli authorities evicted the Shamasneh family from their Sheikh Jarrah home of 53 years. The group behind the ethnic cleansing was the Israel Land Fund.
The Israel Land Fund continues to advertise real estate in Sheikh Jarrah, encouraging further settler takeover of the Palestinian neighborhood.
The settler takeover of Sheikh Jarrah is being carried out by a country that receives $3.8 billion from the US every year—and millions more from private American citizens who support the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes.
