Interesting to note, yet again, that so many of the I/P analysts who have spent decades pushing for failed policies—policies which, in many respects, brought us to where we are today—are incapable of learning from their failures.

At some point someone needs to step in and say “Look, we’ve done things your way for decades. The results have long been in: They failed. Indeed they’ve made things worse. Further they were a regurgitation of sorts of British policy decades before you came on board.”
“You no longer get to cite your expertise on the pages of major publications or at major news networks or high-brow think tank events. Nor should you work in policy. Unless, of course, you can honestly account for the obvious: you failed. Your policies failed.”
In few other industries is failure so rewarded as in “peace processing” the extent of which we’re getting a sampling of right now.
