More than 600 rockets fired into Israel last night alone. All fired from a genocidal terrorist group. No other nation would tolerate that. Israel could flatten Gaza in an afternoon if it so chose. So spare me the false claims of "disproportionate use of force"
Palestinians have been offered a state on at least six occasions. They've declined every single one. Israel even withdrew unilaterally from Gaza. The response? The election of a terror group that calls for Israel's destruction and which *immediately* began launching rockets
Each of which is fired at civilians while using human shields--a double war crime. The problem--crystal clear and undeniable when one looks at history and the statement of Palestinian leaders themselves--is simple: Hamas--& Fatah--consider all of Israel to be an "occupation."
Jewish political and social equality in the Jewish people's ancestral homeland *has always been the problem* indeed, its why anti-Jewish terrorism predates Israel's 1948 recreation, which itself happened after Arabs turned down a Palestinian state and chose war instead
Indeed, in 1920 in Jerusalem Arabs massacred Jews while proclaiming that Faisal--a Hashemite from Arabia than ruling from Damascus--was their king. mosaicmagazine.com/observation/is…
Put simply: Arab anti-Jewish violence predates Palestinian Arab nationalism. And to the extent that the latter has formed over the last century it is constructed on a steadfast commitment to denying Jewish self-determination.
But back to the use of force. Israel takes steps to limit casualties and be surgical in its strikes that no other Western democracy facing similar threats takes. The former U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs acknowledged as much in 2014 timesofisrael.com/top-us-general…
Israel, of course, gets no credit for its restraint--or for the numerous occasions that it has both accepted and made offers for a Palestinian state. And that, like the expectation that Israel should take missiles and not respond, is a double standard that speaks to something else
As I noted in 2019 in @Algemeiner , Israel has taken steps that the U.S. itself couldn't--or, perhaps, didn't--when fighting Islamist terrorists. algemeiner.com/2019/05/09/the…
And for those highlighting Jerusalem, I have the following rejoinder: the Palestinians have been offered a state with east Jerusalem as its capital on several occasions. tabletmag.com/sections/news/…
Offers for a Palestinian state--which has never existed--have been made since the 1930s. All rejected, out of hand. algemeiner.com/2019/06/28/the…
Not, of course, that the media has an interest in highlighting those. They just ignore them. blogs.timesofisrael.com/abbas-rejects-…
The history of violence and rejectionism goes deep. In 1929, Arab clerics and politicians provoked riots across Palestine by accusing Jews of plotting to take control of Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque. This was 20 years before Israel's recreation...nationalreview.com/2019/08/hebron…
As I noted in @dcexaminer Last week Abbas--the recipient of foreign aid and titles predicated on a faux reputation as a "peacemaker"--echoed Husseini. Abbas knew what he was doing and what he was inciting washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/the-pa…

Interesting to note, yet again, that so many of the I/P analysts who have spent decades pushing for failed policies—policies which, in many respects, brought us to where we are today—are incapable of learning from their failures.
*analysts and organizations
At some point someone needs to step in and say “Look, we’ve done things your way for decades. The results have long been in: They failed. Indeed they’ve made things worse. Further they were a regurgitation of sorts of British policy decades before you came on board.”

After reading this tweet I recommend immediately going to the account of @imshin and checking out #TheGazaYouDontSee
It turns out that what Hamas shows and allows naive Western journalists to see is, um, not the whole truth and maybe, just maybe, part of their propaganda/disinformation ops
But Hamas knows that they can count on Western journalists to amplify their propaganda. Take for example this claim about “protesters” here

Hi Colin, Palestinian Arabs have been murdering Jews long before the 1967 Six Day War—indeed before Israel was recreated in 1948. Also: Jews are indigenous to the land & Israeli Arabs have greater political rights than the Palestinians ruled by the Palestinian Authority & Hamas
A genocidal US-designated terrorist group is raining rockets down on the world’s sole Jewish state but ppl like Colin know whose to blame: the Jews (of course). Bravo, Colin! Well done! You tell those Jews that they deserve those rockets
It is a long standing staple of antisemitism that Jews are blamed for the violence perpetrated against them. This is why the Nazis charged Jewish shopkeepers etc for Kristallnacht; they “provoked” the violence perpetrated against them.

Jews 1. Aren’t “white” 2. Are disproportionately victims of hate crimes. While Jews account for less than 2% of the American population, the new FBI Hate Crimes Statistics report found that more than 60% of religious-based hate crimes in 2019 targeted Jews, an increase of 14%
This tendency to minimize rising antisemitism is nothing new for journalists who, raised on critical race theory and a pathetic understanding of Jewish history, can’t see the truth of the matter. I documented the phenomenon here: camera.org/article/camera…

Question: Why is it only antisemites that the media writ large feels the need to coddle and empathize with?

Should the individual profiled in this piece have directed her hatred at another minority, I very much doubt that it would've been similarly explained away
The gist of this piece: 'Oh it's just Bonnie, the friendly neighborhood antisemite. Yeah, she hangs up signs calling to Nuke Israel and protesting circumcision, but she had a horrible family tragedy, so it's understandable.'
Even by the admittedly low standards that I have for @washingtonpost this is remarkably pathetic
