Sometimes being a solo founder really fucking sucks
Especially when you’re having a shitty day and there’s no one to share it with, logistically or emotionally
I’ve been working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, for 5 weeks

I’m making 1/5 what I did freelancing

And it just feels so thankless and lonely
Today was a perfect storm of crap

A landing page rebuild project fell through a few weeks ago

Today I discovered the individual has put the work-in-progress rebuild live without paying me, or telling me
I learn from my accountant I should’ve been charging my clients VAT for the last 3 months

So now I have to retrospectively re-invoice several freelance clients and hope they’re okay with it
I walk to my coworking space to record back-to-back roasts

The phone booths are in use *all* day and my only option is to walk back home

So now I’m hours behind and exhausted
And, as a result of #buildinpublic I’ve got people asking me to roast their sites for free all day

And acting bemused or affronted when I suggest paying for a roast or joining my mailing list instead
I love building my own business most days, but today wasn’t one of them
It’s time for deliveroo and bed I think

2️⃣ Embedded sign-up form in the landing page, removing friction / the need to load another page to begin signing up.

This also collects emails from people who go on to abandon sign up funnel.
3️⃣ Clear signposting around the CTA element to remove doubt and explain what is coming next.

Most critically they don't just define the buyer's problem. They use emotional language to AGITATE the visitor and increase the desire to solve it.
