when i first read from the mixed-up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler one thing that stuck with me was there was a place to eat in new york city called chock full o nuts
i knew it had to be great
one of the most real moments in the pushcart war is in the epilogue they make a film of the pushcart war and of course hollywood changes the story to fit the star
it is not something u normally see in a childrens book
also the original cover of the pushcart war was so evocative of its whimsical nature compared to a later edition cover that captured none of the spirit of the book in my opinion
subsequent covers of from the mixed up files of mrs. basil e. frankweiler added color and realistic imagery but the original cover is still by far the most striking
i totally forgot harriet the spy was in new york city as well!
