As per IMD's latest update, depression over Lakshadweep area intensified into a deep depression over the Lakshadweep area & adjoining southeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea.
308 people from 78 families have been relocated from disaster-prone areas of Thiruvananthapuram to relief camps in view of cyclone Tauktae. Arrangements have been made to relocate Covid patients staying at home to the nearest domicile care center, if need be: DC Navjot Khosa

Mucormycosis spores are found in soil, air & even in food. But they're of low virulence & usually don't causes infection. There were very few cases of this infection before COVID. Now a large number of cases are being reported due to COVID: AIIMS Director Image

There has been a trend where death certificates' figures being used to ascertain figures of death. Recently such report published by one of the newspapers where they've utilised analysis to establish suppression of death figures on part of the govt: Gujarat Addl Chief Secy (Home) Image
But this whole exercise has adopted faulty analytical procedure. Such inaccurate reporting has potential to create unwarranted panic in the midst of a pandemic & therefore it is appropriate to put correct position in the public domain: Pankaj Kumar, Gujarat Addl Chief Secy (Home)
I would also like to mention here that Gujarat has adopted a very citizen-centric approach by making online process for registration & it can also happen at multiple places. Therefore, possibility of multiple registrations for the same event can't be ruled out: Pankaj Kumar

Delhi: PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on the #COVID19 related situation and vaccination today. ImageImageImageImage
Officials briefed the PM on the current Covid related situation in the country. PM was briefed that testing has gone up rapidly in the country, from around 50 lakh tests per week in early March to around 1.3 crore tests per week now: Prime Minister's Office (PMO)
They also informed the PM about the gradually decreasing test positivity rate & increasing recovery rate. It was discussed that cases that had gone over 4 lakh cases per day are now coming down as a result of the efforts by healthcare workers, state govts & central govt: PMO
