Renato Mariotti: I think "grift disguised as an audit" is a good way to describe what's going on in AZ. If we could give truth serum to Republicans, I'm sure many of them would agree. Bamboo in the ballots shows they're from China? So racist & ignorant.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: It's a conclusion in search of evidence. They want to find evidence that the election was stolen, but Arizona wasn't even one of the determining states. While it's horrible for our nation, it's good the Repubs are divided.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: It's good Repubs are at the level of deciding if landing on the moon really happened, because when they get serious, they focus on suppressing voting rights, for ex.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: I know a lot of people were disappointed in courts during the Trump years, but one thing good about courts is they're good at getting to the bottom of issues. Attorneys don't make things up to tell the judge or the evidence wouldn't bear out.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: Mr. Greenberg's crimes were very serious. He's committed so many crimes. You know how some people like to visit every state? He seems to have wanted to commit every crime.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: There's nothing funny or bizarre about these crimes b/c they've changed the lives of young girls.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: Prosecutors are careful about who they give cooperation deals to. If they're giving Greenberg a deal, the prosecutors are very convinced he's going to be giving them a very big case on someone else.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: Prosecutors are reluctant to give deals for implicating people down the chain--they want to go up the chain, or possibly sideways, if they're giving cooperation deals.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: Gaetz has essentially admitted to behavior that, while not criminal, is absolutely reprehensible. He'd better hope he's not charged w/ anything b/c a jury won't like him if he's taking campaign funds & spending it on prostitution.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: Gaetz is like Marjorie Taylor Greene... not serious people in any way.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: The press release the other day was largely about the NY Atty Gen'l taking credit & saying they're part of it, too. It must be a pretty good case if she's saying that. [Manhattan's case against Trump]
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: What matters in the end is what the evidence looks like.
@renato_mariotti
Rick: Thoughts on the atty representing the QAnon Shaman?
Renato Mariotti: You don't want to demean your client; no matter what your client's done, you want to humanize your client. I wouldn't have involved any of the other participants.
@renato_mariotti
Renato Mariotti: I don't know of any atty who would speak about his client like that atty did.

Bob Ney: When they first came out with electric cars, they had to work out bugs, but I've driven some of my friends' electric cars, and they're pretty cool.
Rick: The new Ford Lightening will be made in the U.S. Looks like a great truck.
@bobney
Rick: The Secretary of State said the U.S. was no longer interested in buying Greenland.
Bob Ney: Oh, I'd forgotten about that! Trump wanted another state so he was going to buy Greenland.
@bobney
Bob Ney: To try to make the commission bill the litmus test is the most ridiculous, ludicrous thing.

Sarah Burris: If you're gonna crime, you'd better crime smart.
@SarahBurris @RawStory
Sarah Burris: The Capitol Police released a letter that basically took these Republicans to task for saying the insurrectionists were peaceful tourists. The Capitol Police basically said, "How dare you?" If that had more breathing room, I wonder if it'll sway Repubs

David Carroll: The Postal Service is not necessarily digging through everyone's mail but they are analyzing our social media.
@profcarroll @parsonsdesign
David Carroll: been recently discovered, esp. w/ all the shenanigans at the Postal Service, that their law enforcement arm is using Clearview AI to find people in social media very easily.
Rick: Okay, but WHY is the Postal Service using this?!
@profcarroll @parsonsdesign
David Carroll: This erases a boundary between social media & law enforcement that needs to be there.
Police depts also use Clearview AI; that software can be used to find child predators, for ex.

Bob Ney: One thing you have to say about that lawyer [Albert Watkins, defending one of the 1/6 insurrectionists], he managed to offend three different groups in one statement.
@bobney
Bob Ney: You can argue whether you need the commission or not. I think they could have set it up differently internally. It's bizarre to use the vote for the commission to determine if the people on 1/6 were tourists or insurrectionists.
@bobney
Bob Ney: Steny Hoyer & I had put together a group to investigate what went wrong with ricin, anthrax, and 9/11. We wanted total transparency.

Max Berger: People within the Labor movement were a little skeptical of a more social Labor movement, & people thought it was nuts to go for $15/hr min wage. Now $15 is the floor & it's the standard demand for Democrats.

Max Berger: Ordinances have been passed in cities & states but it's still early days in this movement for $15/hr.

Justin Hendrix: There was legitimate bipartisan effort to implement the changes that McCarthy & others asked for to determine how the investigation would go.
@justinhendrix
Justin Hendrix: There's a real chance this will go to the Senate, and the Senate Republicans will put a stop to it. We'll see--others have withheld their judgement so far. It would be hypocritical for Repubs to filibuster this & would be another stain on McConnell
@justinhendrix
Justin Hendrix: This is an incredibly emotional & dramatic vote: will they go with Trump, continue to obfuscate, continue the big lies?
