Maybe controversial but it seems at least remotely *possible* that drugging the defeated—first w cocaine, then w sugar/caffeine and peppy marketing promises that promised unity & global brotherhood—was the less evil way to treat moral trauma.
And if Coke’s current (English) CEO James Quincey made a real & strenuous stand for voting rights, that *could* be part of the protracted 135-year journey of the South to address its trauma with policy & true amends.
Not likely. But possible. If Coke marshaled its financial and marketing heft, its self-interested “bipartisanship”& its original commitment to address moral trauma behind a real amends & policy reparations...there could be some hope for the private sector & the country yet.
Quincey should begin by embracing the Woke Coke slur.
