What I learned (so far) from Good to Great by Jim Collins.

This is a thread.
1/ You have to be Good first.

This book assumes that you are already good at what you do.

If you're not good enough (like myself), you'll find the points in the book conflicting.
2/ Great is playing the long game.

Before you can play the long game, you need to be disciplined with your thoughts and action.

Which can be built using habits.
3/ Leader sets up the Stage for others to Succeed

1. All victory and success are attributed to the staff. Not the boss.

2. Set an environment for others to thrive.

4/ Be humble

1. Be modest, never in extremes.

2. Don't seek admiration from others. (Vanity)

3. Don't be boastful. Follow no 3/.
5/ Have Will (or balls)

1. Do not waver against tides. Stick to the plan.

2. Set high standards (on key matters), don't settle for less.

2. Look in the mirror. Never blame others, 3rd party or external factors.
6/ Hire the Right People, then goal.

Our (boss) goal is usually filled with self interest, be rich, lazy af, yacht etc.

Instead, the let them decide which is the best way to go.

Attitude + Self discipline > Skills
7/ Hiring People

1. When in doubt, don't hire.

2. When problematic, act. (Move to different department before firing)

3. Move the best people to opportunity, not to problems. They will flourish better there.
When I think about it,
its much like farming.

You are the farmer.

✅ Make the land fertile
✅ Plant the best seeds
✅ Move the best seed for max yield
✅ Water and fertilizer timely
✅ Great fruit because of land, not the owner
✅ Be patient
✅ Remove bad branch quickly.

B2B Marketing.

Ramai yg ingat B2B marketing ini lebih kurang sama saja dgn B2C.

B2B bukan jual kepada owner dan stokis ye. Ia lebih dari tu.

B2B adalah singkatan untuk Business to Business.

B2B ada banyak layer yg kita perlu cover supaya senang terjual.

Berbanding B2C, hanya kepada seorang end user.

Sesuai dgn namanya Business to Consumer.

Hanya kerana dapat bayaran dari account syarikat lain, itu belum B2B totok.
Saya habiskan hampir 20 tahun dalam B2B.

Tender pertama saya buat pada usia 23 tahun berharga 1.3 juta dan semestinya kalah.

Menang tender ke 2, harga 210k.
Jual PABX kepada Petronas.
Ya, 23 tahun. Syarikat ayah saya.

Ini perspective saya.

Let's be honest, almost everyone wants to be rich (or richer).

There's no shame in wanting that.

In fact, Islam urges you to be rich! That's why Allah tells you to pay zakat.
