Guys those of you angry on Penguin army trying to take credit for Metro 7 & 2A dont fret. Media may give credit to MVA or Sena.
But remember the genius of Fadnavis. He started with Metro 7 & 2A for two reasons, 1. WEH and link road carry > 60% of Mumbai road traffic.
1/n
Hence starting first metro routes (after Metro 1) from Dahisar to Andheri belt was justified. 2. Bandra-Dahisar belt is BJP area. 8 MLAs & 47 corporators (out of 83) from this belt. This time BJP can easily get 55-60 corporators from this belt (remember majority mark is 114)
2/n
Given the nature of North South travel pattern in Mumbai, this belt had problems boarding local trains or travelling on jammed highways. Now most have an option as both lines connect to Metro 1 & will connect to multiple lines in future.
This will reduce load on WR n on WEH
3/n
So whoever tries to get credit or whoever is eulogized by the media, votes will be won by BJP.
Also remember Mumbai metro work is in progress all over Mumbai now. The metro network once ready will better ridership capacity of 150+ year old suburban rail network in Mumbai.
4/4
Ok forgot to mention. Metro 7 is being extended from Dahisar to Mira Bhayander at one end and Andheri to CSIA (airport) at other end. These extensions are also work in progress.
So anyone can travel to International airport in air conditioned comfort

Mumbai charts for vaccination (shared by Ms. Ashwini Bhide in a tweet). Check the vaccination details for 18-44 yr age group.
1,30,188 people in this age group got first dose till now. Out of those 94,638 got their vaccinations from private (hospitals paid/ corporates).
Overall 30.9 lakh doses in Mumbai of which 23.47 lakh are first doses. Nearly 18 lakh of these are 45+ citizens and remaining HCW, FLW and 18-44 yr citizens.
23.47 people getting atleast 1 dose is about 26% of the total eligible citizenry of approx. 90 lakhs under BMC area.
As on 27- May, nearly 49% of all vaccination that happened in BMC area was done by private (paid in private hospitals/ corporates in tie-up with private hospitals).
So while BMC waits for global tender to result in vaccines, the private hospitals and corporates are saving the day
A controversial take on petrol price hike. Petrol price was between 85-90 in 2013. It is now at 100 rupees. My salary has nearly doubled in these 8 years. While petrol prices have increased in double digit percentage. But that is not the main point.
UPA was subsidizing petrol n diesel prices by making OMCs absorb losses and part compensating them via electoral bonds. Hence the govt was providing a petrol subsidy to the middle class, upper middle class and the rich. This class is salaried or into business.
Now Modi govt is instead providing subsidies to the actual poor via. social schemes (house, toilets, electricity, water, business loans). In my view it is better to support poor and uplift them rather than subsidize the classes who can fend for themselves.
Historically Congress-NCP has always treated Mumbai (and MMR) as a hen that lays golden eggs. Money made from Mumbai is to be funneled back to their rural constituencies. No attempt was made to improve problems like commute in Mumbai by any Congress-NCP led govt ever.
Check out any major project in Mumbai (or MMR). It has always been started by BJP leaders. Nitin Gadkari as PWD minister built 55 flyovers in Mumbai, completed the Mumbai-Pune expressway and started work on the Bandra-Worli sea link. UPA govt inflated the cost for the sea link
And of course gave name of Rajiv Gandhi which of course no one uses. It is plainly called as Bandra Worli sea link and not Rajiv Gandhi samudri setu. UPA govt struggled for 7 years to build a 11 km metro line between Versova and Ghatkopar
Read this ANI thread carefully. Vaccine market opened up. Now states cribbing that centre not giving us vaccines can buy directly from the manufacturers.
States will get vaccines from centre quota (50% of monthly vaccines produced) based on performance. Perform well on vaccination and get more quota. Perform badly and your quota decreases.
Even then states cannot crib as you can buy directly from manufacturers.
But the price will be either same or higher than the price at which centre procures the vaccines.
If states do corruption in this viz. by selling vaccines in black, the common people suffer and you cannot pass buck to the centre. You were given freedom to purchase
Narayan Rane the ex CM of Maharashtra has helped to get jobs for a lot of youth originally from Konkan but now in Mumbai, in enterprises like BEST etc. Many of these youth used to go to Konkan to campaign for him during elections. #BMC2022
Mumbai has a huge population from Konkan historically as it is part of the coastline. Over the last century, the city grew n attracted more migrants. I myself am a 5th generation migrant from Konkan.
Hence Narayan Rane and family can help reach out to a lot of voters
Rane was the first politician in Konkan who took road infra to the remotest of hilly villages. Over the last decade the Rane family had lost popularity in Konkan but now they are gaining back the turf.
Rane can influence atleast a 1000 votes in more than a 100 wards
Look at how fresh @PawarSpeaks saheb is looking nowadays. The lure of power makes people young. Pawar kaka is trying one last attempt at being PM.
First objective is to get Gandhis give up claim to throne for 2024 and support a third front consensus candidate
Will be hard but dont rule out Pawar trying to get secular establishment to put pressure on Gandhis to relent. Today Praful Patel and Sanjay Raut are talking about it. Tomorrow someone like a Ramchandra Guha may talk about it.
Barkha Dutt and Shekar Gupta like fixers may start writing pieces about it. Actually it is the only way 2024 will not be an one sided election if Modi keeps performing well. Combined opposition may be only hope to keep below 272 though it is not likely.
