Incidents like these reveal the urgent need for believers to return to doctrinal fundamentals. Have we understood what REALLY makes us Christians?
See, when you pray for a dead believer to rise, you are praying a prayer that has already been answered. It’s only a matter of WHEN.
Yes, Jesus RAISED Lazarus from the dead (John 11), but as proof that He is the RESURRECTION, and ALL (not just Lazarus) who believe, will rise again when He comes (verse 25,26). SALVATION, not miracles, is God’s FINAL solution to death. It’s prayer already answered for believers
Do I believe the dead can rise today? Absolutely. I’ve found it true biblically Matthew 9:18-26 Acts 9:32-43, 20:7-12 and practically (story for later). But unlike the abundant records of other Bible miracles, not up to 10 people were raised from the dead in the entire Bible!
That’s not an affront to the power of God at all, but because charismatic gifts were NEVER meant to replace the NECESSITY of the gospel. If we simply raised all who died, there are two issues 1. It’s temporal: they still grow old and die again 2. Why then did Jesus need to come?
Being a Christian is believing the radical idea that TO DIE IS GAIN. God's primary offering is not supernatural preservation “here”, but eternal security “there”.
The gospel is this; DEATH IS NO LONGER A TRAGEDY FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS. Phil. 1:21, John 3:16. #pstirensaid
The gospel is not an excuse we give during burials!!!! It’s the truth! We can’t keep preaching eternal life fervently and act cheated when one of us attains it!
No doubt, we miss men and women who “sleep” BUT we mourn different! We mourn in HOPE.
Plus Paul didn’t say: “concerning them which sleep, aren’t you using your authority enough?”. Instead he reaffirmed their hope in the gospel (1 Thess. 4:13-18). It’s immature to think Pastor Adeboye must have done or not done something for his son to die.
Also, God showed mercy to Hezekiah by adding 15years to his days when he should have died. Sometimes, it is by the mercy of God that some people even lived as long as they did. But those “outside” won’t know that. And how ungrateful they’d be to get grumble. Selah.
Final word; Thanks be to God, “who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace... in Christ Jesus...who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” Amen! 2 Tim 1:9-10

LISTEN UP. It takes discernment to recognize real love. You’ve heard that love is an action? Not exactly true. You’ve heard that love gives, therefore giving is proof of love? Not true either
Selfish people could be momentarily generous for future gain. #thread#Pstirensaid
Paul says:
“If I give away all I have, nd I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing” 1 Cor 12:3
So you can give all your money and not be walking in love. You can surrender your very body for buffeting but for sheer heroism and not love #Pstirensaid
Love is a motive. It’s not just in the what, but in the why.
Without the right motives, religion becomes dangerous and I dare say destructive. Once love is no more the motive, devotion becomes the destructive opium of the masses. #Pstirensaid
You prolly imagined God making the soldiers freeze involuntarily (like Lot’s wife turned pillar of salt). Or rain down fire (like in Sodom and Gomorrah). The Bible is replete with such stories, therefore such faith is not unfounded. So then Why didn’t such happen? #pstirensaid
1.“God is not SLACK...but is LONGSUFFERING..., not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9
Simply put, when God doesn’t judge wickedness instantly, don’t call God slack when He is being longsuffering #pstirensaid
Well first, I already preached a sermon on this topic. So if you're interested, check out ccing.org/sermon/can-a-w…. Or you can just check your favourite podcast platform.
Let's get the thread started!
The first thing to note is that 2 Timothy 2:15 says that there is a right way to divide ‘the word of truth’ and it must be done diligently.
One way to be diligent in understanding Biblical truth is to understand the rules of biblical interpretation.
PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE THE BIBLE FORBIDS WOMEN WEARING TROUSERS? Such a pity.
Misinformation has done way more harm than ignorance.

Turns out driving your car May affect your evangelical “drive”, lol. Okay, back to d point
The first guy (Muslim) told me that Jesus categorically promised in the Bible, that Prophet Mohammed was coming. He claimed Jesus actually mentioned the name “Mohammed” specifically.
I have promised to give him 5k if he finds the text. It’s been 12hrs now but...guess he’s busy.
