I've sold thousands of dollars in products & services over email for myself and for my clients

Here are 4 major fields you should improve for a more profitable email list

/* THREAD */ 🧵
To make this as easy as possible

I want to break down email marketing into 4 major fields

1. List building
2. Strategy
3. Copywriting
4. Automation

Let's go over each one, and why you should care
1. List building

No business thrives without new customers

You can only make so much out of each one

And that's why it is important to have a subscribers acquisition strategy

You can do this passively

I.e. Twitter bio

And actively

I.e Promote a lead magnet Image
Everyday you should put some effort into getting people inside your list

Create relevant freebies & relevant content to get people inside

Promote your list as a complementary and exclusive channel of content distribution

Make people want to join
2. Strategy

Most people give up too soon because they can't see tangible results

And more often then not, that happens because there's no strategy in place

You should be able to answer the following questions: Image
- With which frequency will I email my list
- What automation do I need
- What should I promote and for how long
- How will I make people want to buy this

Make sure you know where you're heading
3. Copywriting

Good copy can make or break your emails

Good copy have readers wanting to read more. Bad copy does the opposite

As a general rule of thumb you want your subject lines to spark curiosity

You want your email body to be enjoyable

And CTA to drive action Image
Good email writing tips:

- Talk for one person
- Write like you talk
- Be clear and direct
- Short sentences. Short paragraphs
- 5th grade English
- Add some drama and personal touch
- Use phrase connectors to make it easy to read & skim
4. Automation

For me this is the holy grail of email marketing

You can write a sequence one, and have it running forever

You can write it for a specific trigger

I.e. On subscription

And it can nurture & sell on autopilot

If you can master these four fields you'll set yourself a very profitable list

5 steps I implement when writing an email automated sequence for my clients

/*THREAD */ 🧵

Opportunity at the end
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail"

That's the ideology I follow and that's why I make sure to have a streamlined process to guarantee quality

Let's dive into the 5 steps 👇
Step 1. Planning

Before starting any sequence I make sure I understand what I'll be promoting

And I gather all the useful resources that will come in handy, for example:

- Bullet points with benefits
- Discount codes
- Testimonials
- Stories

2. Write the email around that without ever telling what it is

Simple trick to increase open rates with NO extra work

/* THREAD */ 🧵
Every time you send an email, not everyone in your list will open.

Most common causes are:

- They're not on their inbox
- Email got pushed down the inbox
- Subject line was not appealing enough
- They were not in the mood to read the email
Most often than not, people not opening doesn't mean they have no interest in reading what you've send.

It was just not pertinent for them at the time.

So here's how you fight that:

Why you shouldn't care about email unsubscribes

/* THREAD */ 🧵
I get it. It can be harsh to log in into your email platform and see "1 unsubscriber today"

You'll probably go as far as rushing to see who he was.

But you shouldn't care, and here's why 👇
People who unsubscribe would never:

- Be buyers
- Add anything to your business
- Be the type of customers you want

Most of them:

- Either don't know why they're inside your list in the first place (freebie seeker)
- Simply don't resonate with the content (it's fine)

5 Writing Tips To Write Emails That Hook readers

Thread 🧵
1. Use active voice

In school they teach you should write in the passive voice.

It's more often than not not the best for the reader

Active voice:

- Is more persuasive
- More informal
- Easier to read
2. Use the correct adverb & adjective

You want to paint the most accurate scenario

Don't say: He was very tall for his age

Say: He was abnormally tall for his age

--

Don't say: We ran to catch the bus

Say: We rushed to catch the bus
