In a significant development, #MLHU will be receiving a 70% increase in its allocation of COVID-19 vaccine over the next several weeks. This will allow #MLHU to deliver more vaccine to more people in our region, with greater speed and efficiency.
This is particularly good timing, as it will allow acceleration of second doses. Protection against the new Delta variant is much better after two doses (about 90% after two doses vs. 30-40% after one dose).
Our region has seen very limited Delta variant activity to date, so we are happy to be able to offer this additional protection before it spreads any further.
In order to meet the challenge of delivering this vaccine as quickly as possible, #MLHU needs to temporarily increase its staffing capacity at mass immunization clinics immediately.
To accomplish this, #MLHU will be suspending almost all non-COVID-19 programming and services temporarily between June 17 and July 7. This will allow our community to focus efforts on the delivery of vaccine doses to as many people as quickly as possible.
A small subset of basic services will continue to operate. Please check-in with your #MLHU contact for clarification on how this will impact specific programs.
Many staff members will have limited capacity to respond to non-vaccine related emails and messages during this time. Please consider limiting your email correspondence with #MLHU staff, particularly if it can wait until after July 7.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthen our efforts to deliver vaccine, as well as meet the many other important needs of our community.

So you’ve just been tested for #COVID19. While you wait for your test results (which can be scary!), continue to do your part to #StopTheSpread. Here are a few things to think about. Thread below ⬇️⬇️
While you wait for your test results (typically 24-48 hours):
➡️ Self-isolate until you receive your test result; this means staying at home, away from other members of your household.

➡️ Write down all the places that you have been in the last 14 days, and the names of everyone you have been in close contact with starting 48 hours before your symptoms began.
