Here I give you a statistical rundown on all the players to pick and avoid as we head into matchday 3 of the Euros:

Switzerland v Turkey: No team has conceded more goals or shots in the box after two fixtures than Turkey in the Euros so this should be a good fixture for Swiss attackers to target. Switzerland still has all to play for, while Turkey will be playing for pride...

... Ricardo Rodriguez is on set pieces and penalties so possesses decent upside but from the attackers, Embolo is the one who I like the most – he’s comfortably top among all Swiss players for big chance involvements in the games so far...

... Shaqiri had just the one penalty area touch and no shots in the box till date so I’m not so sure about his direct goal threat.

Italy v Wales: This has to be one of the fixtures to target given that we’ll get the Italy lineup before the deadline so we’ve got to make the most of the advantage being presented to us, particularly in a week where every other lineup seems uncertain. I’m expecting heavy...

... rotation from Italy so the cheap defenders are the ones who I have my eye on – particularly the likes of Toloi and Bastoni if they get a game. From the attackers, I think all three of Chiesa, Belotti and Bernardeschi will play...

... Having looked at their underlying statistics in the Euro qualifiers for Italy, I prefer Chiesa and Belotti over Bernandeschi if all three start.

Ukraine v Austria: There’s nothing to separate the two teams here which is why I find this game incredibly hard to call. This is the kind of game where I wouldn’t be surprised if the likes of Yaremchuk, Yarmolenko or Arnautovic...

... scored but won’t be surprised if they blanked either. Personally, I’m avoiding this game to pick from as I believe the upside of assets will be limited.

North Macedonia v Netherlands: Netherlands come into this game having already sealed qualification hence that gives Frank De Boer the margin to rotate if need be. That leaves the likes of Dumfries, Wijnaldum and Depay all potentially at risk – all being assets who are great...

... picks in isolation for this round assuming rotation isn’t a factor. Wijndal and Malen are two players I think will start and could represent great value going into matchday three.

Finland v Belgium: “Vermaelen will play, just like Boyata against Russia and Denayer against Denmark. It remains to be seen how Lukaku recovers. Players who are tired can start on the bench. Witsel, De Bruyne and Hazard will all start”

... Roberto Martinez being widely reported in the Belgian media. From the defence, the standout picks this week are Meunier and Vermaelen. I think Meunier is likely to start given that both Castagne and Thorgan Hazard are injured and he doesn’t have any other competition as...

... such. A double up on Vermaelen and Meunier could be a decent shout given that Belgium are favorites for a clean sheet this week (@drafthound ). Lukaku is a bit of a dodgy pick this week – which makes the attacking double up on E.Hazard and De Bruyne all the more tempting.

Russia v Denmark: Both teams with all to play for means that rotation will be kept to a minimum in this fixture. Maehle is the one who interests me the most from Denmark – they have a reasonable chance of a clean sheet this week while Maehle for his price presents great...

... attacking threat. Maehle is second among all Danish players for penalty area touches in the Euros so far, averaging over five penalty touches per game. Safonov is the only Russian player who’d interest me, he’s extremely cheap and likely to start in goal again.

Croatia v Scotland: Scotland showed great heart in their performance against England this week. I think it is a potentially tricky game for Croatia which is why Perisic is the only one who interests me – particularly because he offers a captaincy option this particular day of...

... the matchday too. In the first two games, he’s top among all Croatian players for shots in the box and penalty area touches.

Czech Republic v England: This was a fixture I had penciled in for English attackers when the fixtures were released but given England’s form, I’m not so sure anymore. At the time of writing, they are in the bottom five teams in terms of chances created. Kane will be certain...

... to start but whether Sterling, Foden or Grealish will start is anyone’s guess. Defensively, England have been far more solid though conceding the fewest number of big chances of all teams in the tournament. Pickford for his price could be a shrewd pick.

Slovakia v Spain: Despite their poor performances in front of goal of late, Spain are ranked by the bookies as the second favorites to score three or more goals this week. Morata is the only certain attacker likely to start with Moreno, Torres and Olmo all running the risk of...

... being rotated. I think a defensive double up on Spain in this fixture is a viable strategy though – those on wildcard who are tied for funds can go with Simon and Pau Torres while those with limitless can target a higher ceiling by picking Alba over Torres.

Sweden v Poland: I think this is a game to avoid as far as Euro fantasy is concerned. With so much at stake, I think this will be a tight fixture – with perhaps Sweden edging it. If you’re looking to pick a Swedish attacker, I’d prioritize Isak over Forsberg despite...

... the fact that Forsberg is on penalties because of Isak’s superior underlying statistics.

Portugal v France: I’m expecting France to bounce back from the shock Hungary result to beat Portugal here but given the premium price tags of both sets of players involved in the game, I would...

... probably avoid all players from this one because there are more standout fixtures out there to target.

Germany v Hungary: Germany are the bookies’ favorites to score three or more goals this week and have it all to play for. I’m definitely tripling up on German assets in my squad. Gosens and Gnabry would be my first two picks. Gosens two big chance involvements against Portugal...

... while Gnabry was the most advanced and best for penalty area touches. The third pick is a toss-up between Havertz and Muller – Havertz recorded two big chance involvements against Portugal and is in more goalscoring form than the latter. Muller...

... is yet to score in the Euros, but he has the slightly better odds to score and is less susceptible to an early substitution.
