I know I shouldn’t be surprised by Kerry. Conversion therapy is incredibly harmful. These 63 MPs had an opportunity to be on the right side of history. Instead, they’ve sent a chilling message to the LGBTQ2S+ community. Disgusting.

Minister @AdrianaLaGrange, there is *absolutely* room for the perspectives of groups like Extinction Rebellion in our classrooms, just as there’s room for the perspectives of industry. Let me explain why. #abed#ableg
One aspect of a social studies teacher’s role is to foster critical thinking as students engage in an exploration of multiple perspectives on an issue.
Our goal is to help students develop the skills that will enable them to become active, informed, and responsible citizens.
In fact, the current PC-developed social studies program of studies offers a number of opportunities for students to examine perspectives on issues. For example, in Grade 10, students are asked to examine the perspectives of both pro and anti-globalization activists.
I’m here at beautiful St. Teresa of Calcutta School in my riding. Minister @AdrianaLaGrange has just announced her curriculum advisory panel. Where are the voices of teachers? There’s not a single current K-12 teacher on the panel. Teachers are the experts. #abed#ableg#abpoli
And what does the creation of this panel mean for timelines? Further delay for a K-4 curriculum that was ready to be tested in classrooms; a curriculum that involved incredibly extensive engagement. Hundreds of thousands of Albertans were consulted.
The Minister is asked about ending the MOU with @albertateachers. She reiterates that the agreement was too restrictive. Clearly, given the composition of this panel, teachers’ voices are not a priority for this UCP government.
