Let’s take another look at some of the emails @OversightDems uncovered in our investigation of Trump's campaign to pressure the DOJ to overturn the election:

Mark Meadows, Italian vote changing satellites, Rudy Giuliani, and the Acting Attorney General🤯🧵

On Dec 30, 2020, Meadows emailed then-Acting Attorney General Rosen a translation of a document from an individual in Italy claiming to have “direct knowledge” of a plot by which American electoral data was changed “in coordination with senior US intelligence officials (CIA)” 2/7

This data was then supposedly loaded onto “military satellites.” The individual claimed that the true data, as well as sources within the conservative wing of the Italian secret service, confirmed that Donald Trump was “clearly the winner” of the 2020 election. 3/7

Two days later, on Jan 1, 2020, Meadows sent Rosen a YouTube link referencing the Italy conspiracy, labeled “Brad Johnson: Rome, Satellites, Servers: an Update.”

Brad Johnson is a noted conspiracy theorist and these claims were thoroughly debunked. 4/7

Rosen forwarded the email to then-Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue, who responded: “Pure insanity.” 5/7

Rosen explained to Donoghue in response that after receiving the message, he was asked to have the FBI meet with Brad Johnson, who Rosen learned “is working with Rudy Giuliani.”

Rosen said he refused the request and would not be giving any special treatment to Giuliani. 6/7

Rosen, as far as we know, didn't go along with this crazy theory, but this truly shows the level of pressure on DOJ.

And it's not hard to imagine a world in which a different appointee would have gone along. After all, the WH Chief of Staff was pushing this insane theory. 7/7
