The DOJ’s lawsuit against Georgia’s voter suppression bill is crucial. But it does not address the election board takeover provisions. The only lawsuit that does was filed by @MarilynRMarks1 & her nonprofit @CoalitionGoodGv. 1/
For those who are interested in the legal grounds for her challenge of SB202 and related details, here is the full interview. In my opinion, her legal theories are brilliant. 2/

4/ Again, this was thanks to Marilyn’s work. It was a landmark ruling by a federal court. No other court in the country had found paperless voting machines to be unconstitutional. statescoop.com/georgia-paper-…
The DOJ’s voting rights suit against Georgia does not address the parts of GA’s new law allowing a GOP takeover of bipartisan county election boards. Thankfully, a suit filed by @MarilynRMarks1’s nonprofit @CoalitionGoodGv does address them. #gapol 1/
If you support @CoalitionGoodGv, it will help them fight the provisions of Georgia’s new law allowing a GOP takeover of bipartisan county election boards. I’m not affiliated w/ CGC; I’m just grateful 4 their unique & important work. TY! #SB202#gapol 2/ coalitionforgoodgovernance.org/donate/
You can watch the full interview here. @MarilynRMarks1 describes how the takeover provisions can be abused and the bases for her nonprofit’s legal challenge. 3/

If Georgia’s new county election board takeover provisions concern you, pls support @CoalitionGoodGv, which is the only organization challenging them in court. Otherwise, we will likely be stuck with those provisions. Note that @ReverendWarnock is up for re-election in 2022. 2/

There are now 8 lawsuits challenging Georgia's voter suppression bill (SB202), including the new DOJ lawsuit.
"We are the only one addressing what we think is the most dangerous provision of SB202, the [election board] takeover provisions." - @MarilynRMarks1#SB202#gapol 1/

here. We discuss her lawsuit challenging the takeover provisions and other aspects of SB202. Again, hers is the only suit challenging those provisions. The DOJ lawsuit does not.

😳Let’s Preserve America (LPA) is linked to Florida elections probe involving bogus 3d party candidates. LPA is based in a mansion that serves as the headquarters 4 a group led by Tom Feeney who was accused in 2000 of asking a programmer to develop a vote flipping programming. 1/
.@SemDems - This press conference seems important re: Ron DeSantis and the state of Florida’s failure to investigate crimes (including election crimes) emanating from Joel Greenberg’s tenure in the Seminole County tax assessor’s office.
This is a remarkable story. Miami Dade may not be the only Florida county in which the GOP planted a fake candidate to siphon off votes from a Democratic candidate for state legislature. It happened in Seminole county too. But the local prosecutor there won’t investigate. 😳 1/
Fortunately, @Scott_Maxwell and @orlandosentinel are on the case. I recommend following Maxwell and whatever he and others uncover in Seminole county. 2/
Seminole county is the county where the infamous Joel Greenberg (of Matt Gaetz infamy) is from. It appears the rot there may run deep and wide. 3/
