The Local Patriot’s Required Reading List – v 3.0

If you're a book lover, then you always knew that this list would end up growing. I knew it and have manfully resisted this inevitable growth. And that brings me to our key point for today. Image
2) America started out as an idea. This idea had a long history, dating back way past Magna Carta (completed in 1225 AD). It dates back to the ancient rights of Englishmen, long before there even was an England.
3) Long, long before that, the idea that became America sprouted in ancient Rome and Greece. I assure you, every founding father, every Constitutional framer, read countless books following the history of this grand, forming idea.
4) The idea of America - freedom - holds within itself more than merely history. It holds philosophy, logic, mathematics, law, and so much more. On a personal note, I've been working on the challenge of adult reading for my entire life.
5) I have joked with prospects and clients on topic by confessing that, since I never graduated from college, never got my degree, I never got permission to stop reading and studying. I am the perennial beginner. Today's version 3.0 demonstrates that.
6) Let's talk about the key change to the list. Tom Paine has been demoted to Bonus category. I have to tell you, that hurt. You cannot truly feel the history of America if you don't read Tom Paine. How could I possibly demote him out of the core list?
7) Tom's work is critical history. But it is not mandatory reading for today's battles. It is another bonus book that forced my hand on this decision. Dan Schultz' on the Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy. He sold me. I'll explain.
8) Dan insists that every patriot own a copy of both the Declaration of Independence and our US Constitution. I've been reading a book about Clarence Thomas. If there's a single point I've gleaned it's that our Constitution and our Declaration are co-equal at law.
9) My great friend, and author of book 6 on the list, @shestokas, has worked hard with me over the years to instill the same understanding. There are TWO documents, NOT one, that are the basis of American Law.
10) The connection tying the two together is the phrase from our Constitution's Preamble, "a more perfect union." In the 1787 - 1789 ratification process, we were NOT able to outlaw the evil institution of slavery. Our union was only made more perfect, here, by the Civil War.
11) There is NO speculation required here. We know that Lincoln's most sacred study centered up the Declaration of Indolence. The 13th, 14th, & 15th Amendments to our Constitution each bear the signature Lincoln's life work and sacrifice. We outlawed slavery, finally.
12) Imperfectly, in the 1789 ratification, slavery remained protected. But the inexorable logic of the Declaration demanded that we improve, that we grow more perfect. It was that imperative that led to the Civil War itself. We freed the slaves. That is "more perfection."
13) It took yet another 100 years before we got the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 57 years later, we've already had our first black President in Obama. I won't divert to analyzing that sad story. I am simply celebrating our MORE PERFECT Union that elected a black President.
14) Damn. I have to linger here. Obama is NOT a grateful man. He is prideful and spiteful. He is cheap and shallow. He still claims to be a victim. After being elected President of the United States, he still plays the victim card. It makes me nauseous.
15) Obama is a thief. He stole America's progress on the altar of his progressivism. We did it. We hired a black President. And what does he do with this empowerment? Divide us further as if we never hired him. I despise such evil cupidity.
16) What got Obama hired? It was NOT our 1789 Constitution. It was our 1776 Declaration. All men are created equal. Obama had every right to become our President. He too was created equal. He stole from us our celebration of that greater perfection. I'll never forgive him that.
17) Freedom is just an idea. Ideas have histories. If you would understand the idea, you must be able to read its history. Reading. Lifelong reading. Reading as an adult, where there will be no quiz, test, or report required. Reading as an informed citizen. How have we lost this?
18) So you see, Tom Paine got demoted due to the mandatory addition of The Declaration and our US Constitution. What I've learned from Dan Schultz is that the Declaration is the ideal, the Constitution is its realization, its execution.
19) Let's clarify the driving logic. Life must be protected. When powerful bad guys come to take charge of your life, they will threaten to kill you. The very purpose of government is to offer precisely that protection, for your life, in that moment.
20) That's the logic of America. Our government governs in order to protect your life, your liberty, your pursuit of happiness, your property. Men will come to take these things from you. Our government stands to disempower them, to protect you.
21) In future conversations, we'll discuss Robert's Rules of Order. Much more about taking back our government. And the Federalist Papers. By the way, since I first posted this list, the one book most often charged are necessary is this, The Federalist Papers.
22) Perhaps I just haven't cracked their code yet. I'm simply NOT a fan of those papers. I know, that's patriotic heresy. Still, it hits me hard right now that the Constitution itself is mandatory. The Federalist Papers explaining it...not quite so much.
23) And that brings us to our final point for today. A reading list is a choice. Each and every book on the list is chosen, or it would not be there. If you agree with my list, you must choose to read what books on it you will. It is a free choice.
24) Coming out of my 2016 initial learning in politics, I realized that I must have a direct relationship to each Principle, of each campaign I support. As the years have rolled, I've grown less enamored, less and less, of those I call my "big shots." I know them. Well enough.
25) What I've come to understand, since, is this. Follow it out:

Reading => Action

That's my formula. If I'm going to help someone, anyone, or any entity, he, she, or it must be ready to read, and then convert reading into action.
26) Ask any of America's founders, how did you learn to comprehend America's needs at its founding? Each will mention his sources, his reading. I'd call this the principle of the Patriot Reader, but truth is, without reading, there is and can be no patriotism.
27) But what of illiterate heroes who risked or gave their lives for the cause of America? How many could even read who fought and died on Bunker Hill? They were heroes, as all who have fought and died from freedom from then till now. Maybe they read nothing.
28) It's a problem to comprehend. I simply tell you, those who led the fight were readers. If those who fought the fight did not read, then they followed leaders who did. Here's an interesting fact. Did you know that Jefferson bequeathed his books to the Library of Congress?
29) While the list may continue to evolve, I stand behind my list of books, primary and bonus. I continue to study these books, myself. My reading and my learning continue to evolve. I urge you to join me. Let us be America's Patriot Readers.
30) And let us embrace the principle that...

Reading => Action

Considered action. Logical, rational, well-thought out action. Patriotic action. Begin with the reading. Then formulate your action.

Yes?
Thread ends at #30.

We may add writing, sharing, and conversing to the process of converting reading into action. You must write your response to each book, and document your plans of action, following. That’s precisely what we do together at Telegram!

Righting History: The Journalistic Battle of January 6th

My friend and true compatriot, David Sumrall, is a great American. His ultimate mission is to very literally STOP HATE. You can tell he plays the long game.

2) If you go to his website (or just click here) you'll see a movie his new movie called "Righting History: The Journalistic Battle of January 6th" It is a very painful, very difficult film to watch. Only 37 minutes, you should force yourself to do so.

3) As many of you know, I don't watch very many videos. David knows this too, so he reached out to me yesterday and requested that I watch his. Grudgingly, I told him I would. He's not the kind of friend I can refuse over such a request. It is HIS film. So I had to watch.

Independence of Body, Soul, Heart & Mind

I believe in the human soul. Not a metaphysical believer, nor do I believe a soul is immortal. Rather, it is obvious to me that a body is motivated by a soul, an animating spirit. A soul is meant to be free.
2) So sadly, a soul can be crushed, its light dimmed, even while the body lives on. I believe this is why zombies are so popular. They represent a human body without a soul. They reflect alienation, the burning out of the human spirit.
3) On this day, 245 years ago, our forefathers cried out in their horror, demanding to keep body and soul both together and free. The evils of kings bore down upon them threatening to deaden their souls while enslaving their bodies. Grasping for life, they rebelled.

Evil Creates Good

Where were you on 9/11? I was in Punta Sam, Cancun Mexico. As I watched the two towers fall, I knew something. I knew that the terrorists had overreached. Their success would be their undoing. I said as much to @KateScopelliti.
2) On 3 November 2021, the same thing happened again. The Democrats established themselves, not as a terrorist outfit, but as thieves, election thieves. They stole the greatest election landslide in American history. I told @KateScopelliti they'd rue the day.
3) From voting precincts to school districts, the number remains, conservatively, about 100,000. In each, control is a political, which is to say a voting battle. We now know that it is these precincts and school districts that matter most.

The List Plus One!

After months of intermittent, chaotic effort, I got a phone call from our local Republican Party Chairman, and he was awesome! That inspired me to read this book by Dan Schultz and you should too.

2) I'm sure I'll end up reading everything Dan Schultz has published. Silly me, you all probably know him from his visits to Steve Bannon's War Room, and other such fame and contribution. In case not, here's his website:

3) If you check it out, Dan published this book in 2010. It's more a pamphlet than a book at just 47 pages. The case is simple, yet profound. It is built on American Revolutionary logic. Here is the logic:

Citizen = Sovereign
Elected Official = Hired Servant

The Meaning of General Flynn’s Story So Far

Since Friday, I've posted 3 threads resulting from a profound conversation with General Flynn on Thursday. Today's will be the 4th. Here's the link to the first. It's important.

2) In case, like so many, you'd enjoy hearing Patrick Gunnels read that thread out loud, here's his recording:

3) As a result of the post above, a couple of friends of mine expressed an honorable challenge. The question of Flynn's relationship to Turkey arose. It's a concern many have, no matter how strongly they support General Flynn. Here was my response:

2) I had intended to take careful notes and write up a thorough report. I rapidly jettisoned that intention and just watched. And the one thing that kept reverberating for me was that there is no other such voice in America. Contemplate that.
3) Adversity has hardened our General, the refiner's fire has cleansed the weaknesses, the resulting iron is both stiff and supple. Supple to take a fine edge, sharp as can be. Stiff to be strong and to cut through clean and quick.
