Without redactions, names of sources and Canadian and American IC assets could be revealed.

Putting them and their families in peril.

Some American assets had to be extracted under existential threat and hidden in the US. Some Russians lost their lives.

The committee is not responsible for investigating crimes, or espionage. Just the LPC ability to sea with CCP.

Which just had 5 new members appointed.

That’s where espionage investigations belong. Not in ad hoc committees. The rules are different. And so are the security clearances.

@PeeCee62 @juzreading @78Bouch The appointments were made June 15, 2021. LPC is not withholding access to unredacted info. But those with access are sworn to secrecy because the information is sensitive and impacts national security. Therefore it can’t be used to smear the LPC party.

Only one is specifically tasked to oversee intelligence gathering and investigation of crimes.

@PeeCee62 @juzreading @78Bouch The other committee is ad hoc, dominated by partisan interests, and able to overrule any sober consideration of interfering in an investigation of espionage and any related crimes.

@PeeCee62 @juzreading @78Bouch Remember: Chairs of committees don’t vote unless there is a tie. With 11 remaining members, and only 5 LPC MPs, this is an opposition led committee with a partisan agenda.

Only possible because we have a minority LPC government which impacts committee membership.

Who celebrates that?
