The team above is my own, I will use it as a template to discuss my theories.

The strategy implemented and discussed below has helped me achieve a 13k OR 🌎, hence I will be persisting with it.

Please just adjust the advice to be suitable to your own team.

No Hits:

With 5 free transfers this round I don’t think anyone should be taking a hit, in theory.

If you can field an XI with all players practically certain to start then that should be good enough.

If you want to take 1/2 (maximum) hits to bring in high ceiling....

speculative plays in order to chase rank then I see no problem with that.

However, as shown below the avenues to points are far more restricted.

The assumption my theories will be based on:

1. England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs Italy 🇮🇹 final

2. The Italy vs Spain game will be far closer than most are anticipating

I ran a poll which suggested 88.4% of people think Italy are going to win, it’s not representative of everyone but...

it shows me enough to take the perspective Italy are heavy favourites.

The bookies are in agreement of that result.

Italy 🇮🇹 vs Spain 🇪🇸:

Luis Enrique is a very very good coach.

Whilst it’s easy to argue he achieved what he did at Barcelona due to the talent at his disposal, many managers have inherited talented squads and failed.

He not only passed but did so with flying colours....

producing one of the best Barcelona sides seen to date.

The job he has done with the national team 🇪🇸 is a very different one.

This Spanish side, in my opinion, are not the calibre of a Semi Final level team, however here they are. I’m not saying they are a bad side but...

there are many better teams who were previously at the tournament, at least on paper.

I very rarely heavily criticise players on this account, I think players are often victim to more abuse than is warranted but Pau Torres isn’t of the quality to play at this level.

He’s....

made Laporte look far worse than he is due to his positional sense, and he isn’t physical enough.

I expect there will be some counter arguments to my perspective given he won the Europe League, he played well in the Final but was lucky against Switzerland to get away with it.

Enrique is likely to tweak the system to accommodate for this, probably goes 4-3-3 off the ball with a deep lying No. 6 and two No. 8’s covering the pockets (zonal not man marking, more effective against highly technical midfields).

However, I don’t think Italy 🇮🇹 are as....

good as people think especially without Spinazzola out.

Belgium should have beat Italy from a tactical perspective.

Martinez set them up perfectly (for the first 70 minutes) to counter the Italian 4-3-3. Going 3-4-1-2 off the ball, ensuring the wide forwards didn’t press...

but rather cut passing lanes to minimalise the time and space the Italian 🇮🇹 midfield had to operate.

If Tielemans and Hazard didn’t perform so poorly, they probably would have won.

Insigne and Chiesa are by far the main threat to Spain’s defence (I don’t think Immobile is..

as good as people say. Doesn’t offer much positionally + lack of pace and movement). With Enrique only really having to accommodate for the wide areas, it limits danger.

The Spanish have real quality going forward (Ferran Torres), and whilst the Italian defence has been solid..

and Donnarumma has been exceptional, a reshuffle this late in the tournament can always disrupt a settled unit and allow for some mistakes.

Spain can score and win this game but I the predominant reason I think Italy edge it is; Chiesa and Insigne will operate as inside...

forwards, and when they drift enough to create an inside overload, exposure of the Centre Back’s could be the Spanish downfall.

As such I think hedging your bets and owning plays from both sides (but not really Spanish defensive assets) is the best way to go.

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 vs Denmark 🇩🇰

I expect a England win, but similar to above a very tight game. The 3-4-2-1 🇩🇰 implement is a safe system and one which counters England well.

Southgate will need to shift his attacking outlet to a more central focus, this is where Grealish and Mount will be absolutely essential.

As seen Denmark have quality and unlike everyone prior who have failed to score, I wouldn’t be surprised..

if Denmark do. As soon as I watched Dolberg I was a big fan, he’s got a lot which can hurt England.

Overall I think England’s quality and Southgate’s tactical flexibility get them over the line, but if they were to lose I wouldn’t be completely shocked.

This approach to the thread is different to previous one’s but I thought it was most suitable.
