Reflecting on the common future of the EU and the Western Balkans at the #BerlinProcess Summit.

We need to speed up the enlargement process.

And in parallel, bring the Western Balkans on our path to becoming more sustainable, digital and resilient.
To get there, our Economic & Investment Plan and Green Agenda for the WB will bring up to €28 billion for connectivity & prosperity.

We also work on making the Common Regional Market function.

We aim to give the region access to the Single Market & 🇪🇺 industrial value chains.
#COVID19 infections have gone down. All WB countries are on the list of partners for which travel restrictions should be lifted.

The #EUCOVIDCertificate will ease travel between our countries.

EU funding is available to establish the necessary systems in the region!

#NextGenerationEU, our recovery programme, is going to frame our action during the Slovenian presidency @EU2021SI

Europeans want to leave this pandemic behind.

We are here to help them to achieve exactly that.

We will get out of this crisis together.
Zuallererst bleibt unsere Impfkampagne entscheidend.

We will work with @EU2021SI, despite our differences, to deliver results.

But how we exit the crisis is linked to the question of trust.

EU taxpayers care too, as they ultimately finance our recovery.

So I call on Slovenia to continue the important work on rule of law files.

We made great progress in our fight against #COVID19.

This week over 300 million doses will have been delivered in the 🇪🇺.

We are on track to have enough doses delivered to vaccinate 70% of the adult population by end of July. twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
We must now focus on consolidating this progress by vaccinating minors and tracking variants

By mid-June @ECDC_EU will have a global monitoring in place with variant maps.

This will help us stay one-step ahead of the virus and adapt our strategies quickly.
Last week's agreement on the EU Digital COVID Certificate was a major milestone.

The IT infrastructure will be ready at EU level as of 1st June

Now Member States have to ensure that national systems are fed with citizens’ health status data so certificates can be issued.

#EUCO leaders acted forcefully in response to the outrageous actions of the Belarus regime.

We are closing our airspace to planes from Belarus & call on EU airlines not to fly over the country.

Further economic sanctions will be presented soon.

Lukashenka and his regime will face severe consequences.

We will keep pressure on the regime until it respects media freedom and freedom of opinion.

Roman Pratasevich & Sofia Sapega must be released immediately.

Belarus authorities are entirely responsible for their health.
The EU has been consistent in its approach towards Russia, who continues to challenge our interests & values.

The @EU_Commission will present a report at the June #EUCO on the state of our relations with Russia.

My visit to Turkey showed how far we still have to go before women are treated as equals. Always. Everywhere.

My story made headlines. But there are so many stories of women, most of them far more serious, that go unobserved.

We have to make sure these stories are also told!
In Ankara I reiterated my deep concerns about Turkey withdrawing from the Istanbul Convention. This is a terrible signal.

Yet to be credible we also have to act at home. Several EU countries have still not ratified it. Some are thinking of quitting.

This is not acceptable.
We'll table legislation to prevent and combat violence against women and children, online and offline.

Because we have to make sure that women and girls are adequately protected in Europe.

As US @VP Kamala Harris said at the UN: the status of women is the status of democracy.

#LSEEurope: Before the end of the month, I expect both the British & European Parliaments to ratify the agreement. In just over 3 weeks, on the 31st of January, the UK will spend its last day as a member state. This will be a tough and emotional day.
But when the sun rises again on February 1st, the EU & the UK will still be the best of friends and partners. The bonds between us will still be unbreakable. We will still contribute to each other’s societies. We will still have a lot to learn from each other.
Truth is: Our partnership cannot and will not be the same as before. And it cannot and will not be as close as before because with every choice comes a consequence. With every decision comes a trade-off.
