In the last one year there have been so many fundraisers, most for medical bills and funerals. Very few for ruracio & weddings.
I am in 7 groups last one month alone. Family, close friends, colleagues.

Commodity prices and taxation are through the roof. Cost of transportation, rent, education are unmanageable. Bills are now crazy after the excise duty increase.
Incomes have stagnated or disappeared across the board through all this. I've had people ask me for 1K, 2K, 10K... people who would never have before. Lakini hata mimi sina. Hakuna pesa!
If we had a functional government this would not be the case. The indignity we are tolerating from these thieves in power is shocking!

In January 2021, buying @KenyaPower tokens worth Kshs 1000/- would get you 63 units... (or 6.3 units for 100/-)

By June 2021, 1,000 bob worth of tokens is only 41 units (100 for 4.1)... That is an over 50% increase in the price of electricity... & no one is saying anything...

@mulialia: @FreekenyaM was started because of 16% VAT on fuel. (Kenyans were silenced when Uhuru said 8 instead of 16)
But now cost of energy has gone up by 50% and it is business as usual...
I guess at times we just have to accept and move on...
