..it is fair to examine the successful use of repeated propaganda by the Nazi Party to bend the will of everyday citizens to achieve Nazi goals.

Minutes pass...and that same soothing voice repeats its rallying cries for you to make sacrifices for the greater good.

A greater good that may require you to:

- sacrifice your freedoms.

- shame others who do not fall in line...and "snitch" on your neighbors.

Critical examination of what they ask you to do is strictly forbidden.

Those who resist will suffer.

Those who submit are promised great reward.

NORMALIZATION of actions, regardless of how counterintuitive they are - MUST be achieved.

...until ACQUIENCENCE occurs.

"Normalization"....a "New Normal" must be accepted and achieved.

It must be branded into their psyche.

Before I proceed, I just want to be clear that I am NOT comparing anything from the Holocaust or the suffering of the Jewish people to our current day or draconian CV-19 measures.

Misappropriation of the suffering of others for the latest cause celebre is NOT my intent.

Let's take a very brief look at how repeated & ubiquitous propaganda allowed the Nazis to motivate everyday citizens of Germany (& of countries they occupied) to change their perceptions of others AND modify their behavior in ways they would have never previously imagined

A few hours ago, the @OttawaCitizen posted an article entitled, "Face to Face with COVID deniers in the ICU."

Here is the reply I posted:

- It is OK to believe that some people will get really sick...and some with die from COVID-19.

- It is OK to realize that the vast majority of those patients are elderly, have at least 3 comorbidities (affecting heart, lungs, immune system), AND live in a cohorted care setting - such as LTC.

- It is OK to realize that smoking is a HUGE risk factor for respiratory infections - and one that is often forgotten or discounted by patients, the health care system and media.

We knew QUITE early on who & where the high risk population was.

Our previous plans ALL included focused protection...
AND mitigating the impact on the rest of society.

BUT...@fordnation & @celliottability caved & threw all that...AND US, out the window.
