The 2020 global proportion of carbon-free energy consumption hit a record 16.9% of total energy consumption (up from 15.7% in 2019)
A linear increase of ~1.1%/yr reaches net zero CO2 from FF at ~2100

The big drop in FF consumption was not matched by increases in C-free consumption, which increased slightly
Key to watch for 2021 -- will the decrease in FF of 2020 be replaced by C-free in 2021 as the world recovers from pandemic? Or right back to FF?

Great detail here from @J_Lovering on C-free energy trends ... note that if the world were at the peak of nukes, hydro and renewables we'd be ~20% C-free (or about 25% higher than today)
