Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke for the first time with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. The Prime Minister thanked the President for his warm congratulations on the establishment of the government in Israel and noted that he has been a great friend of the State of Israel
Prime Minister Bennett commended the election of Brazil as a member of the UN Security Council and emphasized its strong and continuing stand alongside Israel in the international arena.
The leaders noted that the two countries have much in common and agreed to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation in a range of areas, especially economic matters and high-tech.
President Bolsonaro invited PM Bennett to visit Brazil at the earliest opportunity, and was invited by the Prime Minister to visit Israel.
Prime Minister Bennett told President Bolsonaro that he would be pleased to host him at the Brazilian Embassy in Jerusalem when it opens.

In consultation with professional officials, the ministerial committee on fighting the coronavirus approved the proposal of PM Bennett & Health Minister Horowitz to shorten the duration of quarantine to 7 days, conditional on waiting for the result of a negative coronavirus test.
Prime Minister Bennett:
In order to boost the cooperation with the public, as well as the confidence of the public, the Cabinet has decided to enable persons in quarantine to be tested on the seventh day of their quarantine, wait for a negative result and thereupon be released.
However, we will also increase enforcement for violations. People who leave quarantine without being tested will be fined NIS 5,000. The goal of this move is to increase the number of people who accede to quarantine.

"The spread of the Delta variant is currently accelerating throughout the world in many countries, with a rate of infection that is much higher than we have known.
It infects at a 50% higher rate and I regret that we are also seeing that it is starting to spread in the State of Israel, including infections in the community in which we cannot always locate the source.
