At least i joined at the inception with that same goal in mind but at last, there was far more to the rage - It was a subtle war declared & a civil coup against the ruling government.
The protests achieved one thing - The final demystification of our fragile security system...

The protests sparked a nationwide looting of food banks, storehouses and massive theft accessioned by breaking & entry.Aren't we lamenting already about hike in food prices now?

ii. Banditry & hike in food prices
Never have we witnessed the brazen attacks from banditry most especially in the Northwest like now. These enemies of the state, some sponsored by political opposition figures are running riot, killing & kidnapping in farm settlements...

They utilise the vast ungoverned spaces in the regions & they don't really fear interceptions from security agencies, afterall the so-called civil populace have shown that policemen can be easily killed & roasted for chops; their stations can also be razed & weapons looted...
Local farmers in such regions are running away, cattle herders suffer attacks & rustling. Some days back, a ram for muslim festival went up to 200k. Fact is several of the causes for hike in food prices in our country are man made, now man must be ready to correct it!
Hike in Food Prices - THERE IS HOPE.
The lamentations won't go on till eternity. The current economic pains would surely abate. But the bitter truth is Govt can't do it alone.
Extant agric policies & programmes can be fine-tuned & existing strategies rejigged...

But people run programs. We must be ready to re-assess our "Just-get-the-cash-and-buy mentality".
We must confront that mentality of "import everything".
Investors must now look beyond building filling stations at every meter on the street - Mechanized farming is the way.

Youths Should Participate More in Agriculture
This offers the young generation a chance to make a difference by growing enough food to feed the world & banish hike in food prices.
State Govts should weight-lift this. Abuja monthly allocation will continue to depreciate.
