Politico got the scoop today, reporting now that McCarthy has recently confirmed their reporting on his list of his picks for 1/6 committee. Always a h/t to the people at Politico.

I called McCarthy's office a moment ago and was told "We cannot comment at this time."

Ahead of today's procedural vote in the Senate on infrastructure (which is expected to fail as legislation is still being hashed out), Biden will deliver remarks in Ohio @ IBEW/NECA Electrical Training Center. The focus? Union jobs & how his $4T economic plan will buoy workers.
Biden will keep up the stump for his Rescue Plan but will lean hard into infrastructure. OH received a C- on its "Infrastructure Report Card" and that's no small thing when the state's roads and bridges carry the 3rd highest freight volume in the nation.

So far, under the pandemic relief plan passed this spring, OH has received $5.5B from the feds for state relief and $4.6B for local assistance. Unemployment has dropped as well in the Buckeye state by nearly half since June (WH reports: 10.3% to the current 5.2%)

Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, leader of the Proud Boys, entered a guilty plea at the DC Superior Court today: 1 count of destruction of property (burning a church's BLM banner) and 1 count for attempted possession of high capacity ammunition in DC on Jan 4, two days before insurrection
Each count carries a max sentence of 180 days’ imprisonment and/or a $1K fine. Tarrio will be sentenced on Aug. 23 but in the meantime, he must continue to stay away from the District of Columbia per an earlier court order.
Tarrio, who lives in Miami, Florida, came to D.C. on 1/4 and was arrested on a warrant charging him with the Dec. 12 destruction of property offense. As LEOs searched his bag, however, they found the firearm magazines which bore Proud Boys insignia.

Interesting tidbit here if the bill to federally decriminalize weed were passed as is: the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives would be rebranded as the Bureau of Alchohol, Tobacco, Cannabis, Firearms and Explosives.
