He participated in patha-sanchalana of Sangh couple of years ago. At 98. Life long swayamsevak. 
Purandare is an excellent mimicry artist. If I remember the story correctly, he was mimicking Savarkar once when latter visited pune (kesariwada, I guess)
Savarkar was impressed with accuracy of mimicry. But asked this young boy to stop mimicry and do something original in life
