Not a huge amount to catch-up on overnight but lots coming up in the next few hours...
In the athletics Laura Muir and Katie Snowden made it into the 1500m SFs. Beth Dobbin into the 200m SF. Nick Miller into the hammer final. Sirfan Hassan - going for the 1500/5k/10k treble fell in her 1500 heat and ran 200m round the whole field from 50+m back to win. Ridiculous.
Sailing's been called off due to lack of wind so those medal chances are delayed. Coming up:
Cycling: now
Gadirovas on floor: 10am
Athletics: 11am
Emily Campbell/Laurel Hubbard weightlifting: 11.50am
Women's team sprint qualifying at the moment in the cycling - only event GB hasn't qualified for. Women's pursuit qualifying at 7.54 with Laura kenny - GB need to be top 4 to go for a medal.
Oh and I forgot our big medal chance - eventing - the jumping starts at 9am.
The other bit of athletics news is the Jasmine Camacho-Quinn beat WR holder Kenny Harrison to win the 100m hurdles and win Puerto Rico's second ever gold after Monica Puig in the tennis in Rio. I don't really know why they're doing a few athletics finals in the morning. Bit odd.
GB qualify 2nd fastest for the women's pursuit - they went under previous WR pace but the Germans had smashed the WR by over 3 seconds earlier in the session. They will go against the US tomorrow to see whether they get a shot at gold or bronze.
Big news - Simone Biles WILL go in the beam final tomorrow. If she wins a gold that's the story of the games.
James Heatly and Jack Laugher have both qualified for the 3m individual diving SFs tomorrow - in 4th and 6th place respectively.
Yikes - in the men's pursuit one of the Australian's handlebars just came away from the bike at 60km an hour. Smashed into the floor. He seems OK.
GB currently sitting 4th in team pursuit - the Australians will get another go later and if they beat our time we won't get a chance at a medal. We're seeing what we expected - other teams have learnt how to peak at the Olympics. It won't be a big GB gold medal haul this time.
The top 4 team pursuit teams all smashed the previous Olympic Record set by GB in Rio. Denmark look like big gold favourites. GB are going to struggle to get a medal, despite a big British Record, even if they stay 4th and get a chance at the medal races.
Australia don't go past GB in the team pursuit despite a very brave run given what happened. So GB still have a shot at gold but it's looking pretty unlikely.
In the eventing GB are lying first with 1 jumper for all the main teams still to go. They can knock down 4 fences and still win. But that can happen, obviously.
6th and 7th for the Gadirovas in the floor final. Jade Carey of the US wins gold after stumbling on the vault yesterday. Gadirovas will only be 19 by the time we get to Paris....and should keep improving.
GOLD in the team eventing for GB. That's gold number 11. First time in 49 years.
The individual final is coming up later. GB riders in 5th (Laura Collett); 3rd (Tom McEwan); and 2nd (Oliver Townend). Will only have a chance of another gold if Julia Krawjewski of Germany hits a fence in her round.
Australians won the silver - Andrew Hoy at 62 becomes the oldest Olympic medalist in any sport since 1968. And a gap of 21 years since his last medal. He'll go in 4th to the individual later. The gap between the youngest medal in these games and the oldest is 49 years!
The oldest ever Olympic medalist is Sweden's Oscar Swahn who won a silver in the "running deer" shooting event in 1920 at 72. British artist John Copley did win the painting silver in 1948 at 73 but those "culture" events aren't recongised by the IOC anymore.
GB won two gold medals in the culture events - one for town planning in 1932 and one for graphic works in 1928. Sadly we never won in the "epic works" category. We don't really do"epic". They stopped running culture events after 1948.
Hard to watch the 200m SFs with no Dina but 100m gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah ran one of the fastest times ever at the Olympics (21.66) to qualify fastest. Christine Mboma of Nambia (18) broke the world junior record with a 21.97.
If Mboma wins a medal it's going to ignite the issue of DSD (differences of sexual development) women athletes. They've been banned from middle distance races (all three 800m medalists at the last Olympics were DSD). But can still compete in the sprints and longer races.
It's highly contentious because it particularly affects sub-Saharan African women and is seen as discriminatory by some to exclude them but necessary to the integrity of the sport to others.
Watching another contentious final - the superheavyweight weightlighting with Laurel Hubbard, the first transwoman to compete in a physical event. The favourite is China's Li Wenwen who is 150kg - just less than three times more than me. Emily Campbell for GB has a medal chance.
Hubbard fails all three of her attempts a the first "snatch" lift (I don't make up the names) and is out. Campbell will go into the "clean and jerk" (again not my name) in 4th place. 3kg behind the bronze.
Indivudal eventing medals jump starting at 1pm. As is GB women's hockey QF against. Weightlifting going on with Emily Campbell currently 4th. Women's 5k final is at 1.40pm. Heavy rain in the Olympic stadium so Holly Bradshaw's pole vault qualifying has been paused.
GB guaranteed at least a silver medal in individual eventing. Tom McEwan is top with two to go and one is Oliver Townend.
Emily Campbell guaranteed a bronze in the weightlifting. Our first weightlifting medal since 1984.
Tom McEwan gets the silver in the individual eventing - Germany. Emily Campbell will get silver in the weightlifting. Medals 34 and 35 for Team GB.
Sirfan Hassan wins gold in the 5k - the first of her unprecedented treble. Made it look so easy against Kenya's Hellen Obiri who is double world champion.
I report without comment and an entirely straight face that the German Aline Rotter Focken has won the 76kg greco-roman wrestling.
GB 2-1 up against Spain with 15 minutes left in the hockey.
Will do the medal tallies while that's going on.
GB did well to get all their good medal chances today with the sailing postponed. Up to 11 golds and 35 medals. At this point in previous games:
Rio: 16 gold and 41 medals
London: 18 gold and 40 medals
Beijing: 12 gold and 28 medals
Against previous GB teams - the Tokyo 2020 team is now up to 8th place going past Paris 1924.
Tomorrow is probably the key day of the games for Team GB's final medal position. Eleven chances of which 3 are already guaranteed - but unknown colour - and another 3 or 4 of which are strong chances. Will set it all out in the Day 11 preview later.
GB and Spain women's hockey teams have a penalty shoot out to see who gets the semi-final place.
GB win the shootout! They will be in the semi-final against the Netherlands who are favourites. But they will be in a medal match. And that's that for today.

After a terrific Tuesday GB have a couple of guaranteed medals on Wednesday plus a bunch of other chances amongst a whole range of sports.
If you fancy a nighttime watch the women's swimming marathon starts at 10.30pm featuring Alice Dearing, the first black woman to represent GB in a swimming event. Not amongst the favourites but it's usually a pretty open event.
In the early hours our two stakeboarders finall get underway with Bombette Martin (15) and Sky Brown (13) going in heats in the Park event from 1am. Final at 4.30am. Sky in particular has a good chance of being in the medal mix.
Well that was an exciting morning of sailing. Two more golds for GB but both of them on the finish line. Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell in the skiff and just now Giles Scott retained his Finn title.
Fletcher and Bithell won gold by literallly a couple of centimetres. Scott had to go past a couple of boats on the final leg and somehow managed to. 6th consecutive Finn gold for GB - our longest run in any event. Sadly it isn't on the Paris schedule.
Hannah Mills and Elidh McIntyre have guaranteed another sailing medal for tomorrow in the Women's 470. Looks likely to be another gold. Fallen out of the medal places in the Men's 470 though.
A huge day for Team GB tomorrow with eleven medal chances - 6 or 7 guaranteed or strong - and a super busy morning. Plus Biles is back.
Again most of the GB action is in socialable hours. Overnight there is only an outside chance for Abigail Irozuru and Jazz Sawyers in the women's long jump (2.50am). Pretty open competition but more than three in the field have jumped further. 400m hurdles men's final at 4.20am.
The sailing begins early are today's postponement. Outside chance for Charlotte Dobson and Saksia Tidey in the women's skiff at 4.30am. Followed by a much better chance for Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell in the men's skiff at 5.30am.
As we move into the second week the GB focused action moves later in the morning (thank god I'm exhausted). Relatively quiet day on the medal front tomorrow before a potentially very big day on Tuesday.
Tomorrow's best chances are in the eventing which comes to its conclusion with the team showjumping at 9am and the individual at 12.45pm. GB sit top of the team competition and Oliver Townend / Laura Collett / Tom McEwen in 1st, 3rd and 6th place individually.
We also have a good chance in the men's skiff medal race at 7.33am where Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell currently lie in 2nd place. Charlotte Dobson and Saskia Tidey sit 5th for the women's skiff medal race at 6.33am, having lost a good position from earlier in the week.
Late start today as I was up watching during the night and then fell asleep...three medals overnight. Two more in BMX, including another gold, and a historic swimming relay silver for GB.
Charlotte Worthington won a surprise gold in the BMX freestyle beating favourite Hannah Roberts of the US with a brilliant run. (9th gold, 29th medal). Declan Brooks got a bronze in the men's freestyle (medal 30).
In the swimming our 4x100 medley men (Greenbank, Peaty, Guy, Scott) pushed the US all the way. They had to break the WR to beat us. The silver (medal 31) makes Duncan Scott the first Brit to win four medals in a single games. And overall the best GB result ever in swimming.
At the halfway point GB are tracking slightly above predictions - the big medal sports in the second week will be boxing, sailing, equestrian and hopefully track cycling. I don't expect much from athletics, especially with poor Dina out.
Our best chances on day 9 are probably in the pool again - where we have already had our best ever games. The men's mixed medley relay (3.36am) will be Greenbank, Peaty, Guy, Scott - all medalists. A medal will make Scott the 1st Brit to win four in one games.
We also have Ben Proud in the 50m free at 2.30am - who is very unlikely to beat Dressel but has a shot at a medal. And Dan Jervis in the 1500m free at 2.44. A less likely medalist but not impossible.
