Let's talk about #domesticviolence and police corruption in #Greece For years I had a psychologically abusive and violent relationship with a Greek Cybercrime Cop. Eventually, the physical assaults became so bad, I reported him to the Greek police... who ignored me. #metooGR

The Greek police did not even issue me a case file and to this date have never responded. Unfortunately due to continued issues with this person I had to obtain a restraining order in the UK, too. #metooGR

I was annoyed at being ignored but moved on with my life. Then, in February this year, a team of Officers from the Greek Cybercrime department (his dept) broke into my villa in Skopelos to raid it and seize my electronics for “defamation of their officer” #metooGR @ukingreece

The #Greekpolice ransacked my house flipping mattresses, emptying drawers, yelling at me in Greek, and speaking to me like a piece of trash. They refused to allow me to speak to my Lawyer and forcibly restrained me #metooGR @ukingreece @TheSun

@ukingreece @TheSun They forced me to sign documents I did not understand, yelled at me to shut up,stop crying. They said if I cooperated and gave them all of my devices and passwords, they'd let me call my Lawyer. Once I did? They refused! This is how #domesticviolence victims are treated in Greece

I had contacted the police with substantial evidence asking for help over 18 months ago because one of their officers had abused me. Instead, they allow him to use his position to harass me further. Do not trust the #Greekpolice #metooGR British Embassy will not help. @TheSun

This department deals with paedophiles and murderers and yet, the #Greekpolice allowed their officer who was reported for #domesticviolence to send a team of officers to his ex-girlfriend's house in a pandemic to raid it and get her phone?! #metooGR @TheSun @ukingreece

This same Cybercrime officer had been found to have naked photos of revenge porn complainants and victims on his private devices. I bet he was not raided in the same way. Absolute disgusting lack of respect for women #metooGR #domesticviolence

These are the type of men who carry guns within the #Greekpolice and whom their colleagues scramble to protect and silence the victims of. Men that beat women, feel no remorse in doing so, and send further threats to scare women from reporting. #MeToo #metooGR

Of course later organising raids to seize the woman’s phone and laptop, and removing social media accounts or renaming the urls thinking that they can outsmart. No respect for women and an arrogance that they think women will be too scared to speak out #metooGR #metoo
