Accused Proud Boy & Jan 6 conspirator Matthew Greene is making argument for release from jail in Northern Neck, Virginia

Greene's attorney just argued "many people were going things out of character" on Jan 6.. and said Greene is Afghan War veteran

Greene's attorney said messages about "war' were references to "information war".. not a call to arms

Greene's lawyer is the latest person (today) to argue that his client never entered the Capitol and should be given more latitude by court because of it

Feds have been responding - strongly - to prior arguments by saying.... LOTS happened outside the Capitol on jan 6

Greene is accused of keeping weapons, eight loaded magazines, large volume of ammunition in his home

Feds cite it as indicator of possible "dangerousness" .. "No conditions... can ensure safety of the community"

Feds: This defendant talked about "having a f***ing rat in his ranks"

Greene is accused of being part of Proud Boy, using radio equipment at US Capitol on Jan 6 and being part of conspiracy

Let's see what judge decides....

JUDGE DENIES MOTION. Greene will remain locked up

Judge has made multiple references to the allegation that Greene was wearing a radio "earpiece" on grounds on Jan 6

Judge mentions Greene was among the first to breach barricade, was among first to arrive at line confronting police

Greene is accused of making series of threatening statements too, including "We'll kill them all". He denies it

But judge cites it as part of rationale for holding Greene in jail

Judge cites alleged statement from Greene, “Everybody wants to be a patriot, until it’s time to do … patriot things”. Feds allege Greene used private, encrypted chat w/ Proud Boys in Central New York. And alluded to his military service in Afghanistan to indicate readiness

And.. there’s this: judge just mentioned allegation that this Jan 6 defendant bought more than 2,500 rounds of ammo and gas mask on ….. January 9th

Judge didn’t like or buy Greene’s argument that he bought all that ammo after Jan 6 due to “favorable prices”
