To all the new followers…

Occasionally I swear when I’m mad. I won’t lie, it happens from time to time.

Sorry if that offends you. But I reserve the ability (it’s not a right) to use profanity to make a salient point. And this was a salient and hurtful point.

The empathy and compassion we all expressed at the beginning of the pandemic has dissipated. Completely understandable that we are all overly stressed and grumpy about being isolated.

That hasn’t changed my husband’s job or his duty to show up for work.

But it also hasn’t been easy for him or his coworkers be put at great risk by people whose self interests have replaced their empathy for people who are literally putting their life on the line to provide the essentials for living. And a few extravagances.

We wouldn’t have food, fuel, or many necessary commodities without transportation. There are real people who operate trains, trucks and shipyards.

We owe the availability of every commodity to them transporting it from where it’s made to where you purchase it.

They are as important as water sanitation, garbage collection, utilities and grocery stores.

Without them we cannot survive long as a society.

Try to remember that the next time you feel the need to complain about your situation.

Everyone of those workers has been on the job through thick or thin, surging covid or not.

We owe them our lives.

The least we can do is show some respect for theirs.

Check your entitlements and privilege. Not everyone got to sit at home during covid.

Essential workers have been there to ensure we all can live with the necessities provided.

Medical professionals perform medical miracles and essential services. Other essential workers make sure you have what you need to survive. Food, utilities, clean water and sanitation.

Please try to remember the essential workers are real people with real families and great responsibility and risk. Not all of them got hazard pay. In fact most didn’t. In Alberta anyway.

Most take their jobs very seriously and know how vital their work is. With little acknowledgement or compensation for their effort over the last 18 months.

Covid is not over.

I’ve never seen my husband so afraid of what’s to come. Living in Alberta has become a health hazard for essential workers who are expected to perform, not complain and are taken for granted.

Now they will do it blindfolded. With no precautions & no info to protect themselves.

My husband is fully vaccinated. That’s not the problem. But he works with a bunch of guys who aren’t. Believe it’s a hoax. He’s terrified of bringing the virus home to infect me and our children. Because he probably won’t even know he has been infected.

That’s what Kenney is doing to people in Alberta. Taking away the ability to protect themselves and their family.

I’m high risk. My youngest son is thankfully 12. So he’s fully vaccinated. But there are always exceptions to fully vaccinated who contract covid.

My husband doesn’t want to be responsible for my sickness or death.

Remember it’s real people with real lives who are impacted by UCP’s Russian Roulette Delta variant policy.

We must stop UCP from creating a nightmare scenario where we can’t trust anyone is safe to be near.

Think about it. This policy will drive wedges between families who live together. Not knowing who is carrying the disease will make us all afraid of everyone with whom we come into contact. Our children, our spouses, parents of children under 12, even over 12.

There are no guarantees long covid won’t follow a mild case of covid when you’re fully vaccinated. It’s better to not be exposed at all than to rely on a vaccine.

But employers and corporations aren’t willing to sacrifice profits to preserve children’s lives.

It’s diabolically absurd what Kenney and UCP have done. They are actually trying to infect people.

I’ve never seen anything so reminiscent of Nazi German in my whole life. Except maybe illegal chemical warfare.

This is bioterrorism. UCP policy is bioterrorism. Biowarfare.

Kenney is not stupid or incompetent at hurting people. Governments don’t make this kind of policy without knowing the consequences. People will die. Get sick and develop long covid. Many many people unprotected by vaccines. 1/3 of which are children under 12.

Why is UCP waging war with our children? They’re not. They’re targeting women to stay home, choose homeschooling and leave the labour force. And the casualties in low income communities is a side benefit.

When you know this is a calculated strategy, you realize how evil it is.

We must stop them. We must stop them now.
