Once again, we start out with catching up on the weeks events, and talk while we play. Both of us played pretty well today. At some point, my politics turns on and we discussed the Insurrection (yes, she called it that), lack of morals in our society, lies in the media….

She’s angry at what she said were crazy men and women pretending to be loyal to a President, maim and hurt police protecting and Capitol. She’s so sad that 4 men committed suicide. She’s angry at TFG. Yes, TFG.

She cannot believe what unfolded on January 6. She blamed TFG for all of it. After 4 years of telling me that she’d still vote for him, the Insurrection was the last straw. The very last straw for her. I listened and did not react.

She finally said that what I had been suggesting to her for the last 4 years came together for her. She doesn’t like Kamala Harris or Biden but will NOT vote for TFG should he run for office again and will just NOT VOTE. She called them all Fake Christians.

Now, many of you know that this person and I have been friends for many years. We talk about everything, some subjects aren’t easy to discuss, but I listen. When she talks about the Bible, I listen. When she discusses her logic on guns, I listen.

This is a real breakthrough, but fighting the police, hurting them, destroying our Capitol, the suicides were more than she could stomach. I’m grateful she’s gotten this far. We hugged at the end of a long day and she just sent me a text

To finish, I have said that we have more in common than we don’t with most people we meet. We just have to find a way to listen more and move the conversation forward. We need more of that in Congress and in social media and politics.
