The law was created so conservatives could campaign endlessly. Which they do.

The circumstances facing our nation have changed dramatically since the last election. Covid has changed everything. Exposed enormous gaps and inequality.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh A new mandate is required. An enormous financial commitment has been proposed. An opportunity to reset the system and replace the foundations on which it is based is before us.

All of this demands an election.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh On top of that, 3rd and 4th place minority opposition parties hold the balance of power. Making partisan special interest demands in exchange for approval and confidence. Contrary to how our Westminster parliament is supposed to work.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh Committee structure is impacted, so legislation is often obstructed, delayed and slow walked to approval.

NDP and CPC have attacked LPC with false scandals and trumped up accusations which the ethics commissioner tires of refuting.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh RCMP are tired of being called on to arrest the leader of the nation on fake charges.

Most importantly, the nation’s public is tired of the political theatre that has become QP & the attention seeking news conferences that reveal nothing but smears and vacant accusations.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh O’Toole has been given a year to establish his leadership. Turns out he’s a dud. So is Jagmeet Singh. Both employ liberal doses of demagogic populism and the electorate is sick of it. Only misguided partisan tribalists revel in the madness known as Canadian federal politics.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh For 140 years Canada had open ended election dates. Campaigning was reduced to the 30 day writ period. Most other comments were actually criticism of government policies, many of which included suggestions for improvement.

No one knew when the election would be called.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh So there was actual work done when MPs were in HOC and senate was in session.

I’d kinda like to return to a functioning democracy instead of this populist nightmare of polarized pincer attack from both extremes. There are serious issues that need to be addressed.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh So stuff your overpaid opinion. Canadians are sick and tired of shenanigans and foolishness displayed by Singh and O’Toole.

I don’t want to watch creepy videos of Singh in bed or listen to brainless outdoor toilet talk from O’Toole.

We need serious people.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh These are serious times and they require serious policy. From serious and skilled politicians who can navigate the multiple complex issues before us.

People who voted their conscience or motivated by hatred never imagined covid would descend upon the globe in 6 months.

@GlobeDebate @theJagmeetSingh I want an election so we can choose a majority government and a new mandate. Then get down to business and get things done. My children’s future hangs in the balance.

While GG has the power, she will not block an election because there are so many good reasons to have one.

Why should Canadians remain in minority govt limbo and purgatory to prop up mediocre but ambitious opposition leadership?

We deserve better. And an election. Which the new GG understands all to well, being a practical and brilliant woman.
