Covid-19 severely infected over 7,000 vaccinated people in #Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district, a six-member central team learnt during its recent visit to the state

m.economictimes.com/news/india/cov…
While research and anecdotal evidence during the second wave have indicated there have been breakthrough infections and variants, especially Delta, overcame vaccine-induced immunity, the recorded data of such a high figure is a cause for concern.
Collector of Pathanmthitta Divya S Iyer confirmed to ET that atleast “5042 people turned positive after two doses of vaccines of which 258 turned positive after completing two weeks after two doses”.
As many as 14974 turned positive after first dose alone. Of these, 4490 turned positive after two weeks, she added.

“We need more details to assess if this is a case of vaccine failure or whether there is any other element at work."

All India #COVID19 vaccination status, I have taken the TOTAL projected population 2021 as per National Population Commission Report.

The highlighted states are poorly performing in vaccniation where their percentage is than the national average figures.
As promised, I here have taken the projected data of the adult population above 18 years for the year 2021 given by National Population Commission Report, 2019 & the table shows their numbers.

The highlighted states' %vaccinations are below national average figures...
Will soon create a GIS map for better visualisation

I am following @RijoMJohn for quite long time.

His identity is no way connected with brother's political affiliations, I value him as an independent researcher..

Most of times our considered opinions see through this coloured prisms, I faced this during Kerala floods!
The same guys who shared my articles and tweets on flood had terrible problems with my criticism of their behaviour during #COVID19 times!

When you stand independent, you have the freedom to air your opinions w/o taking sides!

I relish that freedom, that is it!
Of course, I am a highly opinionated person.

I am so candid about my opinions about certain leaders who wore either hypocrisy on their sleeve or embrace bigotry..

That has no way influence my fact checking too.

Then I give a damn about trolls of any shade too 😉

The problem with @INCIndia policy makers is that they created monster systems and thought that they will remain benign.

But they became a tool of oppression, surveillance and subjugation at the hands of a tyrant regime whether it is Aadhaar, UAPA, NIA, etc.
The arrogance of power made many of the ruling elite in UPA-2 made them stop listening to the dissenting voices, which is the most essential requirement in a democracy to weigh & view the facets they don't consider.

They let Nilekkanni type brokers to have a say on many policies
Most of our legal frameworks used to push in the guise of nationalism, terrorism, security, welfare etc, without deliberating its possible misuses.

There is a tendency in Parliament to push federalism to the corner whether it is GST or Dam Safety or many matters...

After getting very heavy rainfall at Valparai & Nirar, Tamil Nadu Sholayar crossed its full capacity and started spilling through masonry spillway to Kerala #Monsoon2021
For the time being, no flooding threat as Kerala Sholayar has plenty of space to accommodate possible spill and Chalakudy river is much below warning level
We are in close coordination with TN authorities and the situation is monitored closely.

So need of any panic here.

You increased the Excise duty on Petrol from Rs. 9.48/litre in 2014 to Rs.32.90/litre now.

When global crude oil prices fell, you raised taxes & did not pass the benefits to people.

Now instead of blaming global crude price, try to ameliorate some pain of people!
Also in MMS era UPA spent around 10-11% of revenue as fuel subsidies, so they systematically deregulated petrol prices.

But Modi Govt instead of passing the benefits to deregulated petrol prices to people started taxing heavily.

Now
Look at Union Budget 2021-22, the total revenue receipts is 34.12 lakh crores & the excise duty from fuel comes 3.35 lakh crores, that is almost 10%.

Since you lack imagination to tax & also help your cronies, you gone for the shortcut of taxing heavily every single person!

Rather than using numbers as a critical tool to inform policymaking, Modi and his ruling Bharatiya Janata party treat data as an important input for a political narrative about Modi leading India to its rightful place in the pantheon of world powers.
Inconvenient figures that may undermine these claims are either twisted, or buried.

The BJP’s creative use of numbers has made a bad situation worse.

ft.com/content/bd99a1…
“The BJP understands that the common man in general doesn’t really understand data.

They decide what the dominant narrative should be;

they try to find data that would support it, and they try to suppress data that would counter it.”

pointed out @ShivamShankarS
