I've had to break the news to hundreds of people who call, email: given the federal and state employment agency and DOJ guidance on legality of employers mandating vaccines (which I disagree with and which is at odds with how they treat similar issues), workers have few rights. /
2/ Absent a BONA FIDE medical or religious exemption, employers don't have to accommodate your preference, and even then, they have ways around a valid exemption and can also shame you with special tags and masks and such, encouraging co-workers to peck you to career death./
3/ Employers WANT this to be mandatory because it takes the burden off them to accommodate the individual healthcare choices of their workers! They don't care about your fertility concerns, or your natural immunity from having recovered, or your desire not to be a guinea pig./
4/ What choices do you have? Gov. Kristi Noem suggested find another job. Yeah, right. Good luck with that. Governors could make vaccination status a protected category for employment purposes, but they won't. Why? Because they dare not upset the Chamber of Commerce./
5/ Unions could provide relief with objections, like the postal worker's union, but in real life those objections are mainly used to get leverage for other concessions./
6/ You could file a lawsuit, but see above. With all the agency alphabets ranged against you and no case law on your side, you will lose. Don't expect relief from the Federalist Society judicial cavalry. They were usually biglaw partners before representing -- big corporations./
7/ I wish with all my heart I could give some hope or comfort to people terrified about taking an experimental drug, or losing their job, and being barred from unemployment benefits because fired "for cause." I hate to say I can't help you, but right now there are few options.
8/ People calling my office get irate at my staff for not being able to help them. I understand why people are upset. It's time for Americans and particularly conservatives to wake up to the fact that corporation-worship has brought us to this point where government works with/
9/ Big tech and big pharma and big banks and big corporations to override your individual liberties, crush you into submission, & leave you without recourse. Consider this set of facts very carefully the next time you vote. Because otherwise your choices will continue to narrow.

BREAKING — Fed court hands a victory to my friend & legal hero ⁦@MarinaMedvin⁩, who is representing J6 defendants very zealously & professionally. The order that the government allow the public to see the tape involving one of her clients, is a First Amendment victory too!
2/There are a few competent and ethical DC-barred attorneys handling J6 cases, and a broader group around the country representing hundreds of citizens arrested that day for various alleged offenses. They each have ethical conflcits @MarinaMedvin is one of the good gals/guys.
3/There's a handful of OTHER attorneys chasing clients but who don't have relevant criminal defense experience and who seem hyper-focused on PR and fundraising, not competent criminal defense. If you are a defendant or family of one, do your homework & ask questions. High stakes.

At a rare, in-person meeting of the @CAGOP Executive Committee to decide whether the party should adopt a PROCESS for potential endorsement of a candidate to replace Gavin Newsom as California governor. In that process, one of the options will be a “No Endorsement” vote.
2/ There are supporters of several of the leading Republican candidates in the room. Yesterday, there was a Rules Committee report to approve the form of the rule amendment under discussion.
3/ John Cox is a member of the Executive Committee, who protested this rule outside the state party headquarters yesterday. He didn’t show up to vote against this today.

BREAKING NEWS— 9th Circuit just ruled against Gavin Newsom’s lockdown orders regarding schools, holding that the state deprived parents of five private school students of their rights to control their children’s education when it ordered all schools shut: libertycenter.org/wp-content/upl…
2/ First pages of opinion:
3/ and the court also ruled that the case is NOT moot, and remanded the case for further proceedings. The court ruled against our @Liberty_Ctr clients on the public school claims. We look forward to continuing this fight in the trial court! Important victory for parents and kids!

(Thread 1/4): Joined @CortesSteve and @JennPellegrino on @newsmax this evening - @GavinNewsom’s little band-aid bill is not going to make a difference towards crime. What is going to make a difference is if we stop electing ridiculous prosecutors who refuse to enforce our laws.
(2/4): Just like with #RecallGavinNewsom, billionaire money is funding the wrong side of recall efforts directed at prosecutors like @GeorgeGascon.
(3/4): The racial impact of #CriminalJustice issues is felt most negatively in low income and middle class communities. In San Francisco for example the violent crime wave has disproportionately hit the older Asian immigrant population.

The hearing in the Larry Elder and voter Betty Tom Chu matters (my firm represents the latter) may be seen here:
2/ Judge opens hearing with a tenative ruling that the tax return disclosure requirement doesn't seem to apply to recall elections, and if it did, Larry Elder substantially complied with it.
3/ Elder's lawyer Steve Baric says even if the statute applied, Larry Elder's alleged sin was providing seven pages of COMPLETE documents to the SOS, but those documents were not in the pile of hundreds of pages of redacted documents. He complied with the statute.

(Thread 1/4): With @Varneyco on @FoxBusiness - This political hit job against @POTUS45 is the kind of third world nonsense we see in countries like #Pakistan where former presidents are taken down using petty offenses. Well beneath the dignity of New York prosecutorial offices.
(2/4): #Arizona's voting limits do not violate the voting rights act nor do they hurt minorities. Ballot harvesting hurts every #American equally. The 9th circuit got this one wrong. I am thrilled to see this victory for #Election integrity.
(3/4): #Florida's social media law was struck down in part because of vague language. I found the exceptions for Florida based companies like @Disney and @comcast to be a little dubious. With some more work and wordsmithing this could become a great law.
